Scotiabank (TSX: BNS NYSE: BNS), formally known as The Bank of Nova Scotia, is one of Canada's Big Six banks. It is the third largest bank in Canada, behind Royal Bank of Canada and Toronto-Dominion Bank.

History

Founded in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1832, the bank launched its branch banking system by opening in Windsor, Nova Scotia.
