Ziggy Marley

Ziggy Marley (October 17, 1968) is a Jamaican musician, the oldest son of Rita and Bob Marley. He learned how to play guitar and drums from his father, a legendary roots rock reggae singer. Ziggy was born David Marley but nicknamed in reference to British glam rocker David Bowie and his 1972 album, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

In 1979, Ziggy and his siblings, Cedella, Stephen and Sharon, made their recording debut with their father, "Children Playing in the Streets". The Melody Makers, as the group came to be known, played occasionally for several years, including at their father's funeral. His father, Bob, died in 1981. Their debut LP was Play the Game Right, which was a very pop-oriented album, earning Ziggy some derision from critics. The band's label, EMI, wanted to market Ziggy as a solo act, and so the Melody Makers moved to Virgin Records, where they recorded Conscious Party (1988, produced by Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth). The album was critically and popularly successful, as was One Bright Day (1989) and Jahmeyka (1991).

As the 1990s continued, the Melody Makers' sales slowly declined, beginning with Joy and Blues (1993), Free Like We Want to Be (1995) and Fallen Is Babylon (1997). Ziggy had become politically active by this time, working with the United Nations and creating a record label called Ghetto Youth United. A solo album, Dragonfly was released on April 15, 2003.

A year after their album came out Method Man was the signed to DEF JAM Records with a solo deal. Their debut LP was Play the Game Right, which was a very pop-oriented album, earning Ziggy some derision from critics. the first album that Wu-Tang brought out was called 'Enter the Wu-tang(36 Chambers)' which LOUD Records released. His father, Bob, died in 1981. Before Wu-Tang actually started recording in an actual studio they were only recording there songs in RZA's house until RZA got together some recording time in a studio but for there songs to be recorded they each had to pay $100.

Method once worked at the Statue of Liberty but that job didnt last long because he didnt like the wage that he was being paid. Not only was Method interested in music he was also fasinated in comic books, at times he would imagine him self as a comic book character the character he loved to imagine him self as alot of the time was Ghost Rider. by learning poetry this has meant he has been able to make a career in the music industry which has all paid off.

Methods father taught him to play the drums and he also learnt poetry, his father has made a big influence on him while he was growing up. As a child Method changed his name from Clifford Smith to Shakuan God Allah, he changed his name because he thought Clifford Smith was a slaves name. Method Man is a well known east coast rapper. Clifford was raised in both Long Island and Staten Island this was because his parents were not living together so that meant he had to travel between two homes every now and then.

Method Man's name was originally Clifford Smith. Method Man was born on April 1,1971 in Long Island,NY. He also co-starred with Redman in his own Fox sitcom called Method & Red, however after only a short time on the air the show was put on hiatus and is unlikely to return. In 2004, he released his third album, Tical 0: The Prequel, which spawned a successful single in What's Happenin with Busta Rhymes, but was poorly received both by critics and fans.

Method Man has also appeared in Oz, How High, a stoner film with Redman, and Soul Plane, while continuing to record with the Wu-Tang Clan. His second solo album was Tical 2000: Judgement Day (1998, 1998 in music), which sold even better than his first, though reviews were mixed. Method Man spent some time on his acting career, appearing in Belly, then toured with Jay-Z and recorded Blackout! with Redman. Blige and Redman with a series of hit singles, then recorded the second Wu-Tang album, Wu-Tang Forever. He soon collaborated with Mary J.
