Within Temptation

In February 2005, Within Temptation won The Edison Award for the best band in Netherlands. It was established in Germany in the mid 1990's, incorporated in July 2002, and is headquartered in Sweden. Especially their single, Stand My Ground, received massive radio play, and the album itself went Gold in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium within two months of its release. Real-time scanning means that users are protected when surfing and do not have to start the scanning of spyware manually, as in the freeware version. Their third album, The Silent Force, was released on November 15th 2004 and instantly became a hit throughout Europe. The main difference between the freeware and the Plus and Professional versions is the addition of real-time scanning. In France, Within Temptation toured Paris, Lyon, Lille, Bordeaux and Toulon - all sold-out. Norman, together with Lavasoft, offers the Ad-Aware Plus and Ad-Aware Professional versions.

In both countries they received the TMF/MTV Awards. The band played at the major festivals in the Benelux (Ozzfest, Lowlands, Dynamo, Rock Werchter, Pukkelpop and Parkpop), as well as in Germany (Rock im Park, Bizarre and Summerbreeze). The free download includes Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition, skins, help manuals, RegHance and the latest definition file.The freeware version of Ad-Aware is compatible with Microsoft Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003. Their definite breakthrough came in 2002, when their single Ice Queen reached #1 in Netherland and Belgium. Mother Earth reportedly sold more than 350,000 copies in Europe and reached triple platinum status in Netherland, and Gold status in Belgium. There is a freeware version called Ad-Aware Personal, as well as two commercial products—Ad-Aware Plus and Ad-Aware Professional. Two singles followed; Our Farewell and Ice Queen. It also detects dialers, trojans, malware, data-mining, aggressive advertising, Parasites, Scumware, Browser hijackers, and tracking components. The album was a huge success, and the band played for a large number of fans at many big festivals and sold-out concert halls. Ad-Aware is a program from Lavasoft that detects and removes software on a user's computer that is determined to be spyware.

1999 was a slow year for Within Temptation, but after finishing their studies in December 2000, they released a new album entitled Mother Earth. In 1998 they released the EP The Dance. In November they made a two week tour in Germany and Austria. They signed a contract with DSFA Records less than two months after being founded, and in April the following year, they released their first album, Enter.
