After the true reason for the surgery was publicized many rumors died away. During her late teens and early adult years, Frye made appearances in several low-budget and independent films. She began to acquire a reputation for being very difficult to work with. In particular, on the set of the film "The Saint Tammany Miracle", Frye purportedly showed up late on multiple occasions, got into arguments with other actors, and at one point came in to work with a hangover. Oddly enough, she once auditioned for the show Charmed, a drama about a trio of witch sisters, which formerly featured another actress noted for tantrums and ego, Shannen Doherty.
