They repeated their roles on film, and as Dagwood and Blondie Bumstead they proved so popular that a succession of 27 sequels were made from 1938-1950. She played this character from 1996 to 1997. She was cast opposite Arthur Lake in a radio show, Blondie, based on the comic strip by Chic Young. She became the first hispanic to play a Latina character, in its' 50 year history, when she played the role of "Pilar Domingo". She appeared as a nightclub dancer in After the Thin Man.

Roselyn returned to New York and landed her first English speaking role in the CBS soap opera, "As The World Turns". Sparks died on July 22, 1963. In Puerto Rico, she gained public attention as a dancer and co-host of the island's #1 variety show "Que Vacilon". They had one child, a daughter. In 1993, Roselyn won the Miss Puerto Rico Petite contest and in 1994 she won the international title of Miss America Petite. She married Robert Sparks in 1941. In 1992, she made her movie debut. She married a dentist, Lawrence Singleton, in 1937, and moved to Hollywood, where she was first billed as Penny Singleton. In 1991, at the age of 21, Roselyn moved to New York City, where she took classes in dancing, acting and singing. She sang and danced with Milton Berle and Gene Raymond, and appeared on Broadway in Jack Benny's Great Temptations. However, that was not her calling and after three years she called it quits. She began her show business career as a child by singing at a silent movie theater, and toured in vaudeville as part of an act called The Kiddie Kabaret. Roselyn enrolled in the University of Puerto Rico, where she was to study marketing, like her father and brothers before her. Born Mariana Dorothy Agnes Letitia McNulty in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and known as Dorothy McNulty, she was the daughter of a newspaperman Benny McNulty.
