Rebecca acted in theatres in the UK and in America and toured in a production of the Shakespeare play As You Like It. She has also been nominated for 8 Emmys (winning one) and 7 Golden Globes. Rebecca's most famous roles were Arietty in the UK TV series The Borrowers and as Laura in Sunburn with Michelle Collins. She has been nominated for 5 Academy Awards, for Best Actress in Dangerous Liaisons and Fatal Attraction and for Best Supporting Actress in The Natural, The Big Chill and The World According to Garp. She is the daughter of actress Beverley Callard, who is a regular in the cast of UK soap opera Cornation Street. She was born in Greenwich, Connecticut, and attended the College of William and Mary, becoming a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. She was born in Dewsbury, Yorkshire.
