Pilar Montenegro

Pilar is one of Mexico's biggest pop music stars. She currently lives in New York with her husband and two children. Montenegro was one of several Telemundo superstars featured at the 2004 Telemundo fan fest at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, alongside Maria Celeste Arraras, Ana Maria Polo, Mauricio Zeilic, Mara Croatto, Mauricio Salas and many others. Olin received immense critical acclaim for her part in Alias, and was rumored to have been offered a salary upwards of $100,000 per episode to remain part of the cast. She left the show after her first season, however, reportedly to spend more time with her family. Pilar Montenegro was signed by Telemundo in 2004 to sing the title song in the production El Alma Herida. From 2002 to 2003, Olin appeared opposite Jennifer Garner in the American television series Alias. For her role in the series as Irina Derevko/Laura Bristow, she received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2003. However, she is undaunted by this, as she understands to her public , she is a member of their family, as she comes into their lives every day through the tv screen. In 1994, she married Lasse Hallström, a film director with whom she worked in 2000 in Chocolat, giving one of the best perfomances of her career.

Pilar loves the opportunity to sign autographs, take photos and interact with the public, but unfortunately, papparatzi's keep getting into her private life and squeezing out personal information about her. Her first spouse was Örjan Ramberg, from whom she divorced. She soon followed up her Garibaldi days with soap opera and musical success, participating in telenovelas (Spanish for soap opera) like Volver A Empezar and a few others, and releasing musical hit after hit. Olin married twice. Pilar Montenegro is a Mexican singer who began her career as a member of Garibaldi. She appears in many different plays, from classic to contemporary. Olin is today a prominent member of the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, where she began her career as young actress.

In 1989, she earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress Enemies: A Love Story, in which she portrayed the survivor of a Nazi camp. In 1988, she played in her first American film opposite Daniel Day-Lewis, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, and became a well-known and respected actress. The year before she had appeared in the Swedish film Fanny and Alexander, also directed by Bergman. Olin's international debut in an English-spoken film, again directed by Bergman, was in 1984 in After the Rehearsal.

Later she acted at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, directed by Bergman. It was he who casted her for the first time, after she had not passed her first audition because of her shyness. After studying acting at the drama school of the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, Olin performed on stage classic plays of Shakespeare and Ibsen and appeared in smaller roles of several Swedish films directed by Bergman. Her father was also an actor and had appeared in several of Ingmar Bergman's films.
