The skit -- which showed Sheridan in just a towel, which she dropped to attract Owens' attention -- was widely condemned as being sexually suggestive (see video[[1]]) and ABC was forced to apologize for airing it. In theatre, Oh has also starred in the world premieres of Jessica Hagedorn's Dogeaters at the La Jolla Playhouse and Diana Son's Stop Kiss at Joseph Papp's Public Theatre in New York. The citation was later dropped on March 14, 2005. On American television Oh is renowned for her current role in the hit ABC medical series Grey's Anatomy, for which she has won both a 2006 Golden Globe for Best Television Supporting Actress and a 2006 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.

On November 15, 2004, Sheridan was cited by the FCC for the introductory skit which opened that evening's Monday Night Football telecast, in which Terrell Owens and the Eagles played the Dallas Cowboys at Texas Stadium.
