Michael Shanks

This is the second child for Shanks, his first, Tatiana, with model Vaitiare Bandera, was born in 1998. Carmen's younger sister is actress Paula Duncan. On 2 August 2003, Shanks married fellow actor Lexa Doig, and on 13 September 2004, they welcomed a daughter, Mia Tabitha. Soap Opera Digest and Soaps In Depth have reported that Duncan will serve as a temporary replacement for Eileen Fulton's character, Lisa Grimaldi, on As the World Turns starting in late October 2004. He recently starred in the German Science Fiction Movie Sumuru as the astronaut Adam Wade. Despite that, however, she is still somewhat sought after for American soap jobs. He made several guest appearances throughout the sixth season and returned for the seventh and eight seasons. Another criticism was that, even though she took elocution lessons to fight it, she spoke in a distinct Australian accent, thus she looked out of place in an American family.

Shanks played Daniel Jackson throughout the first five seasons of the series before leaving the show. In real life, however, the actress was three years older than Victoria Wyndham. When Rachel married Iris's father Mac in the 1970s, the main drama stemmed from the fact that Iris was a couple of years older than Rachel.
