On December 14, 2004, she gave birth to a son, Milo, in a New York hospital. She is a supporter of AFC Wimbledon. On March 25, 2003, she married musician Royston Langdon of the band Spacehog. Their daughter, Suzy Aitchison, is also an actress. She will next be seen in Lonesome Jim with Casey Affleck, Ben Affleck's little brother. She was married to husband Tim Aitchison for 45 years until his death in 2001. By the age of 20, she had already starred in several successful movies, including Stealing Beauty, That Thing You Do! and Inventing the Abbotts. June was awarded with an OBE in 1985 for services to her profession and a CBE for similar reasons 13 years later.

She then changed her name from Liv Rundgren to Liv Tyler. She is best known, however, for playing the wifely half of a partnership with Terry Scott in BBC sitcom Terry And June, which initially began under the title Happy Ever After and ran from 1974 until 1988 (though the surnames for the couple were changed for the relaunch of the new title).

Having grown up with the understanding that rock star Todd Rundgren was her natural father, she only found out the truth about her parentage at age 11, after noticing that Steven Tyler's daughter Mia looked like her twin. June is one of the few surviving stars of the Carry On films, appearing in four of the movies. T & the Women.
