The genie opened a magic window onto Ripa's Live with Regis and Kelly dressing room, showing Ripa ripping off her human face to show an ugly alien face, then going to a tied-up human, removing his heart and eating it. On July 7, 2003, Hollywood actress Pamela Anderson was a featured guest on Saralegui's show. In the episode "Family Guy Viewer Mail #1", Peter Griffin found a genie in a beer bottle and his first wish was to see Kelly Ripa behind the scenes. In 2001, she started the recurring role of Tia Cristina Lopez on the American soap opera Passions. She has also made fun of herself on Family Guy, voicing herself. She also has several offers to keep acting, including one to appear on The George Lopez Show. Further in another episode she had a brief 5 second cameo as herself in a skit about Thailand. As an actress, Cristina debuted on The Taina Show.

In another skit, Ripa spoofed the ubiquitous hair coloring ads in which she has appeared (in this skit, Ripa prefers Tressant Suprème because a main ingredient is crack cocaine, thus explaining her stereotypical "peppy" persona). She added a Monday night version of her show, but ultimately, her daily show was cancelled and now she only has the Monday night show. On Saturday Night Live skits about Live with Regis and Kelly, the role of Kelly Ripa is often taken by Amy Poehler. When Ripa hosted SNL, in one skit Poehler appeared as Ripa and Ripa as Angelina Jolie. In addition, she is seen on the cover of Maria Antonieta Collins' books, sponsoring them. In a mutual decision, the couple left the show: Consuelos last aired as Mateo in 2002 and Ripa last aired as Hayley in 2003. A romance blossomed between the castmates and Ripa married Consuelos in 1996. Later, she was paired with Mark Consuelos' character, Mateo Santos. During the 1990s, Cristina's show increased in popularity, her show guests including Don Francisco, the former members of Menudo, Celia Cruz, Thalía, Julio Iglesias, Enrique Iglesias, Jorge Ramos, Gloria Estefan and her husand Emilio, Gloria Trevi, Chayanne, Ricky Martin and many more. Starting on the show in 1990, she was mostly a minor character until she was paired with Christopher Lawford's character, Charlie Brent, in a May-December relationship. Cristina around that time got married to her husband Marcos, a former member of the Miami Sound Machine music band. Acting in high school plays led to roles at local theaters, where she was noticed and cast as gothic teen turned suffering heroine Hayley Vaughan on the soap opera All My Children. She led Cosmopolitan through most of the 1980s, and in 1988, she began transforming her journalism success into television success, when she started her TV talk show, El Show de Cristina, on Univision.

Kelly Britney Ripa (born October 2, 1970 in Stratford, New Jersey) is an American actress, who hosts Live with Regis and Kelly and also co-stars, with Faith Ford, in Hope and Faith. Eventually she worked her way up to becoming the editor of the Spanish version of Cosmopolitan magazine. Saralegui was a student in the University of Miami, when she got an internship with Spanish language magazine Vanidades (the Spanish version of Vanity Fair). Cristina's family had built their wealth in the world of newspaper publishing. A member of a prominent family, Saralegui moved to Miami, in 1960, when she was 12 years old.
