Jennifer O'Neill

Jennifer O'Neill (born February 20, 1948) is an American actress. She was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as the daughter of a Spanish-Irish businessman and his English wife.

As a teenager, O'Neill started to work as a model and appeared in TV commercials and on magazine covers. In 1968 she landed a small role in For the Love of Ivy. In 1970 she played a minor role in Rio Lobo, starring John Wayne. After her success in Summer of '42 in 1971, in which she plays the young widow of a soldier killed in war, O'Neill became a well-known Hollywood actress, and continued acting for the next two decades, but was seldom offered roles which challenged her abilities.

O'Neill had more success in TV movies, including notable performances in Love's Savage Fury and in Bare Essence.

More recently, O'Neill started to write, and has published From Fallen To Forgiven, a book of biographical notes and philosophical thoughts about life and existence.

Besides a strong domestic reputation gained through a widely varied list of roles in theater and television drama, film director Aki Kaurismäki's films have brought Kati Outinen international attention and even adulation, particularly in Germany and France. Her breakthrough role was as a tough girl in the generational classic youth film Täältä tullaan elämä by Matti Kassila. After her success in Summer of '42 in 1971, in which she plays the young widow of a soldier killed in war, O'Neill became a well-known Hollywood actress, and continued acting for the next two decades, but was seldom offered roles which challenged her abilities. Having studied under Jouko Turkka during his "reign" of drama studies in Finland, she nevertheless has never been associated with the "turkkalaisuus" school of acting methodology. In 1970 she played a minor role in Rio Lobo, starring John Wayne. Kati Outinen (born August 17, 1961) is a Finnish actress who has often played leading female roles in Aki Kaurismäki's films.
