Honor Blackman

In September 2004 she briefly joined the Coronation Street cast. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1719 Vine Street. A song she recorded with Patrick MacNee in the 1960s, Kinky Boots, was a surprise hit in 1990 after it was played incessantly by Radio 1 breakfast show presenter Simon Mayo. She returned to the stage in the 1950s, and was found dead of a heart attack after failing to show up for a performance. Following her early career as a glamorous leading lady, she returned to television in the ITV sitcom, The Upper Hand, during the 1990s. In the following year, she starred in the televison version of The Egg and I. In 1963, she married the actor, Maurice Kaufmann, and they appeared together in the film, Fright (1971); they divorced in 1975. Carroll retired from films in 1938, but starred in the early television series The Aldrich Family in 1950.

Blackman trained as an actress at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. In 1930 she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for The Devil's Holiday. She is mostly remembered for the roles of Cathy Gale in The Avengers and as Bond girl Pussy Galore in Goldfinger. One of them, Easy Come, Easy Go, made her a star. Honor Blackman (12 December 1927 -) is a British actress. In 1928 she made eight films. Born Ann Veronica LaHiff in New York City, she began her acting career in Broadway musicals, but was a successful talkies actress because her musical background enabled her to play in the movie musicals of the 1930s. Although she made her film debut in 1918 at the age of 14, her second film wasn't until Ladies Must Dress in 1927.
