Frances Dee

Frances Dee (November 26, 1907 - March 6, 2004) was an actress.

She was born in Los Angeles, where her Army officer father was stationed, and grew up in Chicago. In 1929, her father was transferred back to L.A., and (as a lark) she began working in movies as an extra. She met actor Joel McCrea on the set of the 1933 film "The Silver Cord." They married on October 20, 1933 after a whirlwind courtship. McCrea died on their 57th wedding anniversary. They had 3 sons, including actor Jody McCrea.

She died in Norwalk, Connecticut due to complications from a stroke.

She died in Norwalk, Connecticut due to complications from a stroke. Barbara Eden has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her contributions to television at 2003 Hollywood Boulevard. They had 3 sons, including actor Jody McCrea. This led to a Harper Valley P.T.A. series in 1981. McCrea died on their 57th wedding anniversary. She appeared regularly on television after the series was cancelled and starred in the feature film Harper Valley P.T.A. based on the popular country and western song. She met actor Joel McCrea on the set of the 1933 film "The Silver Cord." They married on October 20, 1933 after a whirlwind courtship. The show proved to be a huge success, running from 1965 until 1970 and during this time Eden was nominated twice for Golden Globe Awards.
