Dharmendra (born December 8, 1935), born Deol Dharmendra Keval Krishna in Phagwara, Punjab, is an Indian legendary actor who acted in successful Hindi films between 1962 and 1977.

Dharmendra's sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol are also successful actors. His daughter Esha Deol from Hema Malini is also an actress.

He produced the film Barsaat (1995) as a launchpad for his son Bobby.

He became a Member of Parliament in 2004 General Elections from Bikaner in Rajasthan on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket.

He produced the film Barsaat (1995) as a launchpad for his son Bobby. It ran from 2000 until 2002, then again for a mini-series in 2003. His daughter Esha Deol from Hema Malini is also an actress. His most recent TV credit is the leading role in My Uncle Silas, about a Cornish country gentleman, who's looking after his grand-nephew.
