David McCallum

In 1966 from Django he went on to appear in eight more films released that year including Texas, Addio and Tempo di Massacro. Although he subsequently became a familiar face on television, he was never able to achieve the same level of popular success as he had done with his role as Kuryakin, a Russian secret agent. His first film role was a small part in La Ragazza in Prestito (1964), he had his first lead role in Sergio Corbucci's Django (1966) a Spaghetti Western and one of his most well-known films. The Man From U.N.C.L.E., intended as a vehicle for Robert Vaughn, unexpectedly made McCallum into a sex symbol. McCallum began his career as a bit-part actor in British films of the 1950s. He was born Franco Spartanero in San Prospero and grew up in Bedonia and Milan.
