Dannii Minogue (2005)

Danielle Jane "Dannii" Minogue (born October 20, 1971) is an Australian-born singer-songwriter, actress, fashion designer and all round performer. She is also the younger sister of Australian superstar Kylie Minogue. Dannii began her career on the Australian talent show Young Talent Time. From there she landed a role in the successful soap opera Home and Away. This led to Dannii to sign to Mushroom Records and enter into the pop charts. Her debut album Love And Kisses, released in 1990, contained five top 40 hits including Love And Kisses, Success, Jump To The Beat and Baby Love. Love and Kisses and... was remixed and edited for a UK release in 1991. Dannii also filmed her first movie role in Secrets (1993).

The follow up album Get Into You (1993) didn't take the scene as successfully, with This Is It being her only top 10 hit from it. After the poor sales of Get Into You, Dannii parted company with RCA and Mushroom Records.

In 1997 Dannii landed a multi-million dollar contract with Eternal Records, who released the album Girl with her first top 5 hit All I Wanna Do. However, Girl (like Get Into You before it) failed to take the UK by storm and entered the charts at #57. Following the album's commercial failure, Dannii was dropped from Eternal Records.

Now without a record deal, Dannii returned to acting and took on stage performances. She toured Australia in the sell out Grease: The Arena Spectacular and followed that with performances in the pop-orientated-opera Notre Dame de Paris in London's West End as well as later taking on the controversial Vagina Monologues.

Put The Needle On It (2002) Neon Nights (2003)

In 2001, Dannii recorded a song with Dutch dance act Riva called Who Do You Love Now?. The track hit #3 and this became Dannii's 13th top 40 hit in the UK. Following the success of this, Dannii landed a 6 album deal with London Records.

Her first album under this deal was 2003's Neon Nights. This album, which entered the UK charts at #8, gave her 3 more UK Top 10 hits, including her biggest to date - I Begin To Wonder which reached #2. I Begin To Wonder was also briefly released as a remix with the huge Dead Or Alive hit You Spin Me Round (Like A Record). The remix was a huge UK club-track. Neon Nights was co-written and co-produced by Dannii. Neon Nights is Dannii's most successful album to date. After the success of this album Dannii was back in to studio to work on a new album but due to problems within the Label and a 'management change' within London Records' structure, Dannii parted with London Records in a mutually agreed decision.

Dannii was married to Australian actor Julian McMahon in 1993 and after their divorce was engaged for a time in the late 1990s to Canadian Formula One driver Jacques Villeneuve.

You Won't Forget About Me (2004)

In late 2004, Dannii signed with Around The World Records, an independent Dance label. With AATW, Dannii released the song You Won't Forget About Me. Flower Power, the original instrumental track by Flower Power was taken by Dannii and mated with original lyrics written by herself. This marks the first release off her forthcoming 2005 album due out in March. Dannii's You Won't Forget About Me entered the UK Single Charts at #7, making it the 5th biggest club track in the UK of 2004.

This marks the first release off her forthcoming 2005 album due out in March. Dannii's You Won't Forget About Me entered the UK Single Charts at #7, making it the 5th biggest club track in the UK of 2004. There was also speculation that "I Don't Wanna Die Anymore" would be a single, as several websites selling Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too marked the track as "Album Version". Flower Power, the original instrumental track by Flower Power was taken by Dannii and mated with original lyrics written by herself. Apart from the album sampler and the one-track promos for the two singles "You Get What You Give" and "Someday We'll Know" there also was a promo single for "Mother We Just Can't Get Enough", which was probably supposed the band's third single. With AATW, Dannii released the song You Won't Forget About Me. The promotional sampler for the album, Songs from Maybe you've been brainwashed too, featured "You Get What You Give", "Mother We Just Can't Get Enough", "I Hope I Didn't Just Give Away The Ending", "I Don't Wanna Die Anymore" and "Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too". In late 2004, Dannii signed with Around The World Records, an independent Dance label. All songs were written by Gregg Alexander, except "You Get What You Give" written by Gregg Alexander and Richard Knowels and "Someday We'll Know" written by Gregg Alexander, Danielle Brisebois and Debra Holland.

Dannii was married to Australian actor Julian McMahon in 1993 and after their divorce was engaged for a time in the late 1990s to Canadian Formula One driver Jacques Villeneuve. In 2005 LMC did a remix of "You Get What You Give" which was released as "Don't Let Go" by LMC vs New Radicals. After the success of this album Dannii was back in to studio to work on a new album but due to problems within the Label and a 'management change' within London Records' structure, Dannii parted with London Records in a mutually agreed decision. trailer to the 2001 film Bubble Boy), on soundtracks (like A Walk to Remember and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed) and covered by artists such as Mandy Moore and Hall & Oates. Neon Nights is Dannii's most successful album to date. Even after the band's breakup their songs are still being used for several commercials (e.g. Neon Nights was co-written and co-produced by Dannii. His most successful song as a producer/song-writer was the 2002 Grammy Award-winning "Game Of Love" by Santana and Michelle Branch.

The remix was a huge UK club-track. In the following years he worked with artists such as Ronan Keating, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Enrique Iglesias. I Begin To Wonder was also briefly released as a remix with the huge Dead Or Alive hit You Spin Me Round (Like A Record). His first producion work after the Radicals' breakup was the album Portable Life by fellow Radical Danielle Brisebois. This album, which entered the UK charts at #8, gave her 3 more UK Top 10 hits, including her biggest to date - I Begin To Wonder which reached #2. He stated that "the fatigue of traveling & getting three hours sleep in a different hotel every night to do boring 'hanging and schmoozing' with radio and retail people, is definitely not for [him]", that he "lost interest in fronting a 'One Hit Wonder' to the point that [he] was wearing a hat while performing so that people wouldn't see [his] lack of enthusiasm." and that he would go on to form a production company to focus on producing and writing songs freelance for other artists. Her first album under this deal was 2003's Neon Nights. The Radicals went on to shoot the video for their second single "Someday We'll Know", however even before its release, Gregg Alexander issued a press release on 12 July announcing he disbanded the group.

Following the success of this, Dannii landed a 6 album deal with London Records. When the band canceled their appearance at RockFest as well as their UK tour (sheduled to start on 17 May 1999) rumors started they would break up, while MCA Records claimed a member of the band being ill was the cause for the canceled shows. The track hit #3 and this became Dannii's 13th top 40 hit in the UK. They also opened for the Goo Goo Dolls on their tour starting 30 March 1999. In 2001, Dannii recorded a song with Dutch dance act Riva called Who Do You Love Now?. Apart from many concerts and festivals the tour also included several live performance on the radio (two of which, their performance of "You Get What You Give" at KBCO and at World Cafe on WXPN, were also released on the radio stations' compilation CDs), an appearance at the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and a performance at the House of Blues in Chicago on New Year's Eve 1999 (which is probably the only New Radicals show of which bootlegs are circulating). She toured Australia in the sell out Grease: The Arena Spectacular and followed that with performances in the pop-orientated-opera Notre Dame de Paris in London's West End as well as later taking on the controversial Vagina Monologues. To promote their album, the Radicals embarked on a tour through the United States, starting in fall 1998.

Now without a record deal, Dannii returned to acting and took on stage performances. When asked about it in an interview, Marilyn Manson replied he was "not mad that he said he'd kick my ass, I just don't want to be used in the same sentence with Courtney Love" and would "crack his skull open if I see him". Alexander later explained the line, along with the lines directly before it, "Health insureance rip off lying/ FDA big bankers buying/ Fake computer crashes dining/ Cloning while they're multiplying" was an experiment to see if the media would focus on the real issues, or on the celebrity dissing. Following the album's commercial failure, Dannii was dropped from Eternal Records. Their first and only album, Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too, was released in October 1998, followed by their first single "You Get What You Give", which became a huge hit with heavy radio airplay and rotation on MTV and much media attention, in large part focused on the celebrity-slamming line "Fashion shoots with Beck and Hanson/ Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson/ You're all fakes run to your mansions/ Come around we'll kick your ass in". However, Girl (like Get Into You before it) failed to take the UK by storm and entered the charts at #57. The concept behind the band was a revolving door with no permanent members other than Alexander, joined by a changing array of other musicians. In 1997 Dannii landed a multi-million dollar contract with Eternal Records, who released the album Girl with her first top 5 hit All I Wanna Do. The New Radicals were formed in LA in 1997 by producer/singer/song-writer Gregg Alexander.

After the poor sales of Get Into You, Dannii parted company with RCA and Mushroom Records. All other members changed from recording to touring to video-shooting. The follow up album Get Into You (1993) didn't take the scene as successfully, with This Is It being her only top 10 hit from it. The band's only constant members were lead-singer Gregg Alexander, who wrote and produced all their songs, and background-vocalist Danielle Brisebois, who often worked with Alexander (before and after the New Radicals) and also co-wrote the Radicals' second single "Someday We'll Know". Dannii also filmed her first movie role in Secrets (1993). The New Radicals were a band that was at the height of its popularity in 1999. The band only released one album Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too, but was able to produce two commercially successful singles from it: "You Get What You Give" and "Someday We'll Know". Love and Kisses and... was remixed and edited for a UK release in 1991. "Someday We'll Know" (1999).
