The Black Crowes(Redirected from Black Crowes)The Black Crowes are a taper-friendly rock and roll jam band, formed in 1985 in Atlanta, Georgia. They are heavily influenced by The Faces and Southern rock. Although they have had many members over the years, the driving force behind the band has always been the brothers Chris and Rich Robinson. In 1989, they made a demo cassette tape that got them signed with American Recordings before they recorded their first album Shake Your Money Maker. In 1992, they released their second album The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion with 10-songs. The rest of their albums were: Amorica (1994); Three Snakes & One Charm (1996); By Your Side (1999); and Lions (2001). They also went on tour and recorded a live album with Jimmy Page in 2000. A live album followed in 2002, before the band took an indefinite hiatus. The band did reunite to play one song with Gov't Mule at the 2003 Jammy Awards. Chris Robinson released two solo albums: New Earth Mud (2003) and This Magnificent Distance (2004). Meanwhile, Rich Robinson formed a short-lived band called Hookah Brown, before recording his own solo album, Paper (2004). The Robinson brothers did announce that they would reassemble the band for five shows in March 2005 to see if they could still operate as a band.
