Billy Talent won the award for best new music group at the 2004 Juno Awards. He is also apparently a good friend of basketball star Allen Iverson, and there were rumors of him dating Kiely Williams, who is a member of singing group 3LW, but he denied any relationship between the two. The name was was inspired by the name of a guitarist in the the film and novel Hard Core Logo(written by Michael Turner) who was named Billy Tallent. In addition to his own albums, Bow Wow has participated in Will Smith's album Wild Wild West (named after the movie which also stars Smith), he shot a video with Lizzie McGuire's star Hilary Duff, had a guest appearance on Brandy's show, Moesha, and made his acting debut in a movie named Like Mike, where he acts as a young orphan who gets a shot at the NBA. None of the actual band members are named Billy Talent. He backed up his first album's (Beware of Dog) success with 2001's Doggy Bag, an album that contained such songs as Thank You, and Take You Home. The group soon changed rechristened themselves Billy Talent and released the EP Try Honesty in 2001. Dogg later hired him as an opening act, and introduced him to Jermaine Dupri, a man who helped shape Moss' career.
