Billy Talent

Billy Talent is the name of a Canadian punk rock music group consisting of the band members Benjamin Kowalewicz (vocals), Ian D'Sa (guitar), Jon Gallant (bass) and Aaron Solowoniuk (drums).

The group originally performed under the stage name Pezz, under which name they released their first single which was entitled Watoosh in 1998. The group soon changed rechristened themselves Billy Talent and released the EP Try Honesty in 2001.

None of the actual band members are named Billy Talent. The name was was inspired by the name of a guitarist in the the film and novel Hard Core Logo(written by Michael Turner) who was named Billy Tallent.

Billy Talent won the award for best new music group at the 2004 Juno Awards.

Billy Talent won the award for best new music group at the 2004 Juno Awards. Note: Bobby Brown should not be confused with the actress Bobbie Brown and the cosmetician Bobbi Brown. The name was was inspired by the name of a guitarist in the the film and novel Hard Core Logo(written by Michael Turner) who was named Billy Tallent. In February 2004 Brown was arrested and jailed in Georgia on a parole violation related to a previous drunk driving conviction. None of the actual band members are named Billy Talent. He married pop/R&B singer Whitney Houston in July 1992. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Brown's drug and alcohol troubles threatened to overshadow his music. The group soon changed rechristened themselves Billy Talent and released the EP Try Honesty in 2001. The following year he contributed a song (#2 pop single On Our Own) to the Ghostbusters 2 soundtrack.
