. 1996's Stay Positive was followed by Life Is a Miracle in 2000. Some song tracks include: "I'm Adolf Hitler", "The Guy Who Shot His Kid Up With AIDS is Awesome", and "I Went Back In Time, And Voted For Hitler". After a 1994 British hit in "Baby Come Back" (originally by Eddy Grant performing with The Equals), with Robin and Ali Campbell of UB40, a best-of album was released. They released Split With The Raunchous Brothers in 2000. Banton then worked on a live album and with Mad Professor, and then released 1992's Universal Love. Additionally, infamous punk rocker GG Allin has a song titled "Anal Cunt", but there is no relation between them. After an EP in 1998, Banton released a more pop-oriented LP, Visions of the World, followed by 1990's Wize Up! (No Compromise), which included an college radio hit in "Spirits in the Material World" (The Police cover) and another collaboration, this time with David Hinds of Steel Pulse.

Since 1997, Anal Cunt has also become known for its acoustic black metal side-project Impaled Northern Moonforest, another joke band. His solo debut was 1987's Never Give In, which included a collaboration with Paul Shaffer. Anal Cunt's take on making song titles a joke in themselves may have influenced many other hardcore and grindcore bands who attempt to get laughs from humorous, but often cryptic, titles. He began recording in 1982, appearing on "Pato and Roger a Go Talk" (from Special Beat Service) with Ranking Roger of English Beat. However, they are still going strong in 2005. Pato Banton (born Patrick Murray) is a reggae singer and toaster from Birmingham, England. The band was meant as a joke, and was to only release one album and do one show.

The sound of a typical Anal Cunt song is loud distorted guitars usually just open strings, drums whacked endlessly and really loud screaming. One recurring song title is X is gay, with X being variable: some well-known examples are The Internet is Gay, Windchimes are Gay, and The Word 'Homophobic' is Gay.

Some examples of their less controversial song titles are Hitler Was A Sensitive Man, I Hope You Get Deported, and Connor Clapton Committed Suicide Because His Father Sucks (the original title for Your Kid Committed Suicide Because You Suck). One ongoing dispute is how much Anal Cunt actually believes in what they say on their albums. The band has often been criticized for its popularity being based solely on their controversial song titles and lyrics rather than any musical ability, and is often quoted when a debate is being made against the grindcore genre of music. Their song titles consist almost entirely (barring the Picnic Of Love album, as well as covers of the A-Team and Hungry Hungry Hippos themes) of generally offensive material.
