The codename refers to the console's promised "revolution" of the video-game industry. Top executives at the company denied this and insisted that they were simply protecting their intellectual property from imitation by competitors before the system is released. Nintendo has previously standardized technologies within the gaming console world such as the D-Pad, analog control thumbstick, first party wireless controllers (Wavebird), shoulder buttons, and vibrating feedback, which have been widely disseminated following their mainstream arrival on Nintendo's machines. DesignThe Nintendo Revolution is the smallest console Nintendo has ever manufactured, described by Nintendo as being "about the thickness of three standard DVD cases and only slightly longer". The console will stand either horizontally or vertically. The front of the console features a self loading media drive illuminated by a blue LED light which will accept 12cm Revolution game discs and 8cm GameCube game discs.[10] When the console was unveiled at E3 2005 the console was colored black, however, at the Tokyo Game Show 2005 when the controller was revealed, promotional material depicted a white console. Nintendo has revealed one of these attachments to be a unit which features an analog stick and 2 trigger buttons. It will connect to the main Revolution controller via a short cord, and its appearance while connected to the main controller has led it to become dubbed "The Nunchaku". Nintendo has stated the aforementioned "Nunchaku" add-on may be bundled with the Revolution console. Nintendo has also announced a controller "shell" which will resemble a traditional game controller called the "Classic-Style Expansion Controller". The Revolution "remote" will fit inside this shell which will allow gamers to play games using a traditional controller while retaining the "remote"'s motion sensitivity. According to Satoru Iwata, it is meant for playing "the existing games, virtual console games, and multi-platform games" [13]. An IGN article titled "Understanding the Revolution Controller" discusses the "shell" and includes a mock-up of what the shell might look like. [14] Despite the controller's similarity to lightguns which are only compatible with standard-definition CRT televisions, Nintendo has stated the Revolution and its controller will be compatible with all televisions including digital projectors. The side of the console (or top if stood vertically) is the GameCube docking station, featuring four controller ports and 2 memory card slots compatible with GameCube Memory Cards and the Nintendo GameCube Microphone. The Revolution's self-loading media drive accepts 8cm GameCube discs as well as the standard 12cm discs such as Revolution games and DVDs. This is a first for self-loading media drives, which have previously only been able to accept discs of a single size. The console also has the ability to play NES, SNES, and N64 games through the Virtual Console feature. Virtual consoleNintendo has announced that Revolution will have the ability to play many or all Nintendo-produced Nintendo 64, SNES/Super Famicom, and NES/Famicom games; the software may be recompiled or emulated but will be offered via the Nintendo online download service. Satoru Iwata refers to this feature as the "Virtual Console". According to a Japanese press release, "all downloaded games will be stored on the 512 [MB] flash memory built into the system. Some 3D games may "look sharper when played on Revolution." Since computers have been powerful enough to emulate past-generation home consoles and the Internet provided an easy, fast, and widely accessible distribution path for ROM images and emulators, illegal ROM downloading has been common among a segment of fans of old games. The music industry's most successful method of reducing illegal music downloading has apparently been to offer consumers a way to download music legally for a small cost, as in the case of Apple, selling music in their iTunes music store for a general price of $1.00 USD. If Nintendo is successful at utilizing this model, they may be able to reduce illegal ROM downloading and open up a new revenue stream. Yuji Naka, the designer of Sonic the Hedgehog at Sega, said in an interview with Famitsu, "It's also great that we'll be able to play Famicom and other games via download. During this encounter, the Queen transformed Spider-Man into a human-sized spider. Nintendo has suggested that they may give some of the downloadable games away with Nintendo products or through other special offers.[19] It is also unknown what specific titles will be available or whether third-party developers will release their older games for the Revolution, although it has been said that Nintendo is in talks with these developers for this purpose. Recently, Spider-Man and Captain America crossed paths with a villain called the Queen. Although no specifics have yet been released, there will be fees associated with the "virtual console" feature. In some versions of the character (such as in the popular movie series), the character generates webs organically from his own altered spider-like biology, instead of mechanical web shooters. If the technical aspects of Revolution also go well, "[Nintendo is] discussing the possibility of having older games like Mario Party playable online." Merrick has also said it's possible that users will be able to download games from others regions, a feature important to European gamers who could download (for example) Super Mario RPG from an American server. The web-shooters can also be used to expel other liquids, using interchangeable cartridges, but are seldom used to do this. Some 3D games may "look sharper when played on Revolution." [18] However, Jim Merrick, a European Nintendo president, claimed N64 games played on Revolution will have a better frame rate, but that there would not generally be any other significant graphical improvements. In addition, Parker can modify the fluid formulation to suit particular specialized needs when called for (this explains why the webbing sometimes conducts electricity, but can also be used as an insulator). It was also said that although the gameplay would stay the same, it would be possible "that with Revolution, we may be able to see the old games with new looks." This may be compared to the 1993 SNES release Super Mario All-Stars, a single cartridge containing several classic Super Mario Bros games with updated graphics. The substance is formulated to dissolve after one hour which is generally sufficient time for Spider-Man's needs while ensuring the webs he makes do not cause undue litter. Nintendo announced that the downloadable games may be redesigned, recompiled, or emulated. However, the default meshed spray generally allows for sufficient strength while being more versatile in its use and easier to remove when desired. To prevent illegal copying, downloaded games will feature a proprietary DRM system."[17]. In addition, when Spider-Man desires it, he can fire the web fluid as a straight liquid when he needs to use the substance's maximum adhesive strength. According to a Japanese press release, "all downloaded games will be stored on the 512 [MB] flash memory built into the system. He can also form crude objects with a heavy application. Satoru Iwata refers to this feature as the "Virtual Console". He can change the setting to a wide spray to ensnare criminals, and to form protective shields or nets. Nintendo has announced that Revolution will have the ability to play many or all Nintendo-produced Nintendo 64, SNES/Super Famicom, and NES/Famicom games; the software may be recompiled or emulated but will be offered via the Nintendo online download service. Typical uses of his webs include creating long swing lines which he uses to travel through the chasms between the Manhattan high-rises. The console also has the ability to play NES, SNES, and N64 games through the Virtual Console feature. The substance dries almost immediately into a strong material that can support very heavy loads: into the one-ton range. This is a first for self-loading media drives, which have previously only been able to accept discs of a single size. The default setting has the adhesive threaded through a special mesh to take on a spider web like design. The Revolution's self-loading media drive accepts 8cm GameCube discs as well as the standard 12cm discs such as Revolution games and DVDs. The placement of the trigger and the finger pressure needed to activate it yield Spider-Man's distinctive hand gesture, with the two outer fingers extended, and the two inner fingers on the palm. The side of the console (or top if stood vertically) is the GameCube docking station, featuring four controller ports and 2 memory card slots compatible with GameCube Memory Cards and the Nintendo GameCube Microphone. The trigger rests high in the palm and requires a double tapping from the middle and ring fingers to activate, so Peter can't accidentally fire the shooter if he makes a fist or his hand hits the trigger. Nintendo has stated that Revolution will be backward compatible with all GameCube software and most peripherals. They are wrist mounted devices that fire a fibrous adhesive very similar to the material spiders use to construct webs. Some details have however been released by Nintendo and other third parties involved with the console:. Spider-Man's web-shooters are one of the character's most distinguishing traits. According to a recent interview with Nintendo's Jim Merrick, Nintendo may never release a complete system specification [16]. For example, he donned a padded suit to battle Electro, and used a very short-lived armored suit in Web of Spider-Man #100. Nintendo has released very little detailed information at present concerning the technical specifications of the Revolution console. Every so often he will concoct a special armor or web fluid for a specific threat. Nintendo developer Shigeru Miyamoto, before exiting the stage of Japan's 2005 Digital Interactive Entertainment Conference, stated that "there are still secrets to this controller, and these will be revealed next year.". Although he is usually of limited financial means, Spider-Man has developed personal equipment that plays an important role in his superhero career. An Ars Technica journal entry speculates that the controller may use a combination of IR and ultrasound to function, much like some existing, similar products such as "virtual whiteboards" [15]. In comics, the activation of the spider-sense is often shown by wavy lines emanating from Peter's head, with his mask occasionally being half-drawn when he is out of costume as an additional cue. Despite the controller's similarity to lightguns which are only compatible with standard-definition CRT televisions, Nintendo has stated the Revolution and its controller will be compatible with all televisions including digital projectors. This ability is like a spider's, as spiders can see all around them. [14]. Spider-Man has honed this sense to allow him to have 360 vision which ties in with the mystical totemistic side of his powers. An IGN article titled "Understanding the Revolution Controller" discusses the "shell" and includes a mock-up of what the shell might look like. The phrase "My spider-sense is tingling" has since become an often parodied catchphrase in American pop culture. According to Satoru Iwata, it is meant for playing "the existing games, virtual console games, and multi-platform games" [13]. Spider-Man approached the mannequin, believing his spider-sense to be warning him about a long-known enemy, learning only too late that it was actually warning him of the explosives as they went off almost in his face. The Revolution "remote" will fit inside this shell which will allow gamers to play games using a traditional controller while retaining the "remote"'s motion sensitivity. Octopus. Nintendo has also announced a controller "shell" which will resemble a traditional game controller called the "Classic-Style Expansion Controller". In one issue of "What if...?", the Punisher successfully kills Spider-Man by hiding bombs in a mannequin made to look like Dr. Nintendo has stated the aforementioned "Nunchaku" add-on may be bundled with the Revolution console. The fact that it is nonspecific has also been used directly against Spider-Man at times. It will connect to the main Revolution controller via a short cord, and its appearance while connected to the main controller has led it to become dubbed "The Nunchaku". The ability to avoid Parker's spider-sense gives some supervillains an edge that Spider-Man often has trouble countering. Nintendo has revealed one of these attachments to be a unit which features an analog stick and 2 trigger buttons. Ben Reilly did not suffer from this problem as he never bonded with the symbiote. The controller also features an expansion port on its underside which will allow various attachments to be added to the controller. For instance if Peter were to slap or punch himself his spider-sense would not perceive the act as a threat and would not activate. The "b" button is located above the "a" button, suggesting the controller can be used like an NES controller when turned counterclockwise. The spider-sense recognizes both as a part of Parker's physical body. Towards the bottom of the controller are two additional buttons labeled "b" and "a". This is believed to have been caused by the Venom symbiote's bonding with Peter Parker. Below the A button is a row of three small buttons labelled from left to right, Start, Home, and Select. Additionally, the alien symbiote Venom and its offspring Carnage are not recognized by the spider-sense. A digital directional pad is positioned at the top of the controller face, with a large button labelled "A" directly below it and a trigger on the underside acting labelled as the "B" button. For instance, the Green Goblin once secretly attacked him with a gas that temporarily suppressed this perceptive ability, allowing the supervillain to shadow him and learn his secret identity. [12]. Although his spider-sense has saved his life innumerable times, Spider-Man has learned the hard way that it can be beaten. An early marketing video showed actors miming such actions as fishing, cooking, drumming, conducting an orchestra, shooting a gun, sword fighting, and performing dental surgery.[11] To communicate with the sensors, the Revolution's controller uses Bluetooth technology. When combined with his superhuman reflexes and agility, this makes him an extremely difficult target to shoot in combat and formidable in close quarters. This allows players to mimic actual game actions such as swinging a sword or using a flashlight, instead of simply pushing buttons. Spider-Man also uses the spider-sense as a means to time his evasive maneuvers to the point where he can avoid multiple gunshots or machine gun fire. Other sensors in the controller itself allow it to sense its tilt and yaw. The spider-sense not only alerts Spider-Man to threats to his physical safety, but also warns him to threats to his privacy such as being observed while changing identities. The controller is also able to sense motion; two sensors placed near the television allow the controller to sense its position in three-dimensional space. While it cannot tell him of the exact nature of the threat, it is vaguely directional and Spider-Man can judge the severity of the threat by the intensity of the tingling. The controller is shaped like a television remote control and is held with one hand. A form of clairvoyance or sixth sense, it unconsciously activates and alerts him to any threat to himself, manifesting as a tingling at the back of his skull. The Nintendo Revolution controller sets aside the traditional controller seen in other mainstream consoles in an attempt to appeal to a larger audience. Spider-Man's most subtle power is his spider-sense. Nintendo has since revealed three additional colors—gray/silver, lime green, and red. In the recent films, he maintains his superb intellect with a mastery of physics and a degree from Columbia University. When the console was unveiled at E3 2005 the console was colored black, however, at the Tokyo Game Show 2005 when the controller was revealed, promotional material depicted a white console. In the comics, he has a facility for chemistry and physics, and later pursues a graduate degree in biochemistry from Empire State University. The front of the console features a self loading media drive illuminated by a blue LED light which will accept 12cm Revolution game discs and 8cm GameCube game discs.[10]. Apart from his physical abilities, Peter has prodigious aptitude in the physical sciences. The console will stand either horizontally or vertically. The full extent of the change has not yet been revealed - it may turn out to be even more profound. The Nintendo Revolution is the smallest console Nintendo has ever manufactured, described by Nintendo as being "about the thickness of three standard DVD cases and only slightly longer". He is also much faster. Additionally at E3 2005, Nintendo revealed that a small internal attachment (most likely a dongle) to be sold separately from the console will allow the Revolution to playback DVD movies. His spider-sense has improved dramatically - he can now see in the dark (or very low-light) and sense vibrations transmitted over his web lines. Whether or not these discs shall retain the GameCube's discs' level of proprietary protection (having been completely nonstandard) remains to be determined. He now has stingers that can protrude from his wrists in periods of stress. At E3 2005 Nintendo announced that the Revolution will use proprietary 12cm optical discs, as the storage medium for Revolution Games. He also gained a number of additional abilities. The new 1T-SRAM has very low power consumption while maintaning the speed and functionality of SRAM and allowing for the density of DRAM. Unfortunately, this seems to have been a one-time occurrence - he does not have the power to heal himself (as, for example, Wolverine does). The goal of 1T-SRAM is to combine the speed of SRAM with the capacity and price of DRAM. Most dramatically, his body had regenerated all damaged tissue, including an eye he had lost in a battle with Morlun. Nintendo has confimed that MoSys, whose 1T-SRAM memory technology was used in the GameCube, will again provide the RAM technology for the Revolution console. When he finally experienced this period of dormancy, in the Spider-Man: The Other storyline, Spider-Man emerged with substantial changes. Recent patents suggest that downloadable DS content is a possibility. The symptoms manifested themselves because Parker was simply too stubborn to allow himself to hibernate; he finally did so as a result of a near-death experience. It has also been suggested that the Revolution will feature connectivity between the system and the Nintendo DS. Spider-Man's recent intermittent black outs and loss of superpowers were the result of the involuntary attempt of his body to enter this dormant state. Along with this comes the ability to use "Download Play." Currently featured in Nintendo's DS portable, this allows for multiplayer network games to be played across multiple systems with only one copy of the game being played loaded into a participating system. It was revealed in the story arc "Evolve or Die" that Spider-Man enters a state of dormancy and sheds his skin and outer tissues, just like an actual Spider, at least once in his life time. Nintendo has also announced that the consoles will be able to connect to one another wirelessly for LAN (Local Area Network) applications. His myopia was corrected as a result of the spider bite. This device was released specifically for the DS but is likely to work with the Revolution. He can also recover from poisons, but he is not immune to natural diseases - he has once nearly lost a confrontation with Rhino because of a bad cold. The Revolution will have built-in Wi-Fi [8], allowing certain games to be played online via a wireless hotspot or through a wireless router.[9] Nintendo has also provided a device that may be able to connect the Revolution online via a Windows XP computer, and a USB port, as well as a Broadband connection, rather than buying a Wifi router. His recovery time from injury is somewhat faster than that of an ordinary human, although not nearly as fast as those with true healing factors. As of January 2006 the specifications for the Revolution's GPU and CPU had not been released, and in an interview with Dutch game magazine [N]Gamer, Jim Merrick, Nintendo's former head of European marketing, said that they may never be.[7]. His bodily tissues are substantially more durable and resistant to impact or trauma than an ordinary human, making it more difficult to injure him, although he is certainly not invulnerable. However in a recent interview ATI's Public Relations Manager for Consumer Products, John Swinimer, confirmed that "Hollywood" has not been developed from PC architecture.[6]. This allows him to outmaneuver foes and to dodge automatic gunfire. It had previously been speculated that the "Hollywood" GPU was based off the Gamecube's GPU or existing PC hardware. Another aspect of his physical prowess is his superhuman agility and amplified reflexes. Many of ArtX's employees were former employees of Silicon Graphics, the company responsible for the Nintendo 64 graphics chip. Now, according to the 2005 Spider-Man handbook, he can lift 15 tons (this is in part due to the transformation to a spider by the Queen in the Avengers Dissembled event) but has been known to lift more under duress, before he found the alien symbiote), and the muscles in his legs have developed to the point where he can jump the distance of several city blocks in a single bound, or multiple stories straight up. In February 2000, ATI acquired ArtX, the company responsible for the GameCube's GPU. He is super-strong, allowing him to lift objects many times his own body weight (Spider-Man says that he could barely lift a VW Beetle, which is about 800 kg. Nintendo has also announced that Canadian graphics card maker ATI Technologies is developing the GPU, codenamed "Hollywood" for Revolution. This posited explanation became crucial in his fight against the villain Electro, who used his powers of electricity to nullify Spider-Man's "sticking power." However, at another time, it was implied that his "sticking power" was somehow based on his pores actually being the important element, and Spider-Man had been momentarily subdued using a gaseous fog that supposedly "plugged" his pores. IBM had previously developed the processor for Nintendo's current system, the GameCube. At one point in the comic series, it was suggested that his ability to adhere to surfaces was due to the fact that he could create a field of static electricity around his body. Nintendo has announced that IBM has finished developing the CPU, codenamed "Broadway". While the exact nature of this has never been pinned down in comics (and various attempts to explain it have contradicted one another), in the live-action movies Peter is shown to have barbed hairs or bristles similar to those of real spiders which extend or retract through his skin. . It follows that he can grip an object with any part of his body with this talent. Nintendo has previously standardized technologies within the gaming console world such as the D-Pad, analog control thumbstick, first party wireless controllers (Wavebird), shoulder buttons, and vibrating feedback, which have been widely disseminated following their mainstream arrival on Nintendo's machines. With this, he is able to support something many times his own weight while clinging to a hard vertical surface such as the side of a building. Top executives at the company denied this and insisted that they were simply protecting their intellectual property from imitation by competitors before the system is released. Spider-Man gained the ability to adhere to any smooth surface using any part of his body. Nintendo has been coy with release of information regarding the Revolution, leaving some media outlets with the idea that Nintendo was not prepared or did not have the intention to compete with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3. Peter Parker became Spider-Man when he was bitten by an irradiated spider, causing a variety of changes in his body which gave him his superpowers. [5]. The suit is rumored to have a variety of optional extras as well. [4] Nintendo has announced that more details about the system will be made public on May 9, 2006 at their E³ 2006 Press Conference. Recently, it has been revealed by Marvel Comics that, after the events of The Other, Iron Man is giving Spidey a new costume with a red and gold color scheme. [3] In a later interview with Sankei Shimbun Iwata confirmed that the Revolution will be released in North America before Thanksgiving. His costume was altered as well, incorporating aspects of the black costume (large spider chest symbol, and square patches on the gloves) with his classic red-and-blue costume. In an interview with Nikkei Business, Iwata stated the Revolution will be released after April of that year, and that they are considering attempting an international launch [2] with no more than 14 weeks of difference between the first and last launching regions. The House of M saga had Spider-Man become a famous celebrity (as Scarlet Witch used her reality warping powers to give Spider-Man the life he always wanted). [1] Nintendo has stated the console will be launched in 2006. He did however wear a non-living version of the black costume until the new occupant of the living costume, Venom, frightened Mary Jane so badly that she could no longer stand to see Peter in the non-living black costume. The system was unveiled at Nintendo's 2005 E³ press conference and the system's game controller was revealed at the 2005 Tokyo Game Show by Nintendo President Satoru Iwata during his keynote speech in September. Spider-Man rejected the symbiote after finding out it was alive and trying to merge with him. For example, the console's controller, which can detect its exact location and orientation in 3D space, is a concept never before seen in mainstream video game consoles. The costume turned out to be a living symbiotic creature, capable of generating its own webbing and improving most of Spider-Man's abilities. The codename refers to the console's promised "revolution" of the video-game industry. He appeared in an almost all-black costume, with a large white spider emblem on the chest and back, and with built-in webshooters on the back of his hands. The Nintendo Revolution is the current codename for Nintendo's fifth home video game console and the successor to the Nintendo GameCube. The most significant alteration to Spider-Man's costume came about in the mid-1980s, after his return from the Secret Wars. However, the liklihood of this is quite low- the technology (and the patents) upon which the "pitch" and "yaw" of the Revolution Controller is based was purchased by Nintendo in mid-2001 [41], well before the Eyetoy even existed. The gloves had web-shooters on the outside, and the web design on the boots and gloves was partially replaced with dark blue. It has been suggested by some that Nintendo released the information about the real-space controller because they caught wind of a "pitch" and "yaw" handheld extension of the EyeToy that was being considered for the PlayStation 3 and therefore released the information to avoid accusations of plagiarism. Instead of a large red spider on his back, the web pattern and spider emblem were repeated there. A reported interview with Shigeru Miyamoto seems to confirm this; however, the legitimacy of the source is unknown.[40]. He placed more emphasis on the spider on the chest, making it large enough to cover the entire torso. Nintendo Power magazine has said this is likely in its July 2005 issue. Several alterations occurred when Ben Reilly replaced Peter Parker in the role. The Revolution may have connectivity with the Nintendo DS and the next Game Boy system. He is sometimes depicted with "under-arm webbing" connecting his arms to his torso. It has been rumored that the Nintendo Revolution will have the ability to download Nintendo DS video game demos that will be able to be received on the Nintendo DS. The mask has large white eyes rimmed with black that allow him to see but hide his eyes. Nintendo may utilize an internally developed proprietary visual distortion method to be applied to all of the games compatible with the Nintendo Revolution, including NES, SNES, N64, and GameCube titles. There is a large red spider outline on his back, and a smaller black spider emblem on his chest. It may be possible that games that were finished and never released, such as Star Fox 2 or EarthBound Zero may be released using the Virtual Console feature. From the waist up, the fabric is the red-and-black web pattern, except for his back, sides, and insides of his upper arms, which are dark blue. Due to the style and features of the controller it may be possible to play NES games that use the NES Zapper as well as the SNES Super Scope, such as Duck Hunt and Yoshi's Safari If the above rumor is true, it would also be possible to play games that use the Sega Master System's Light Gun attachment. From the waist down, it is dark blue (or sometimes even black, depending on the colorist), except for mid-calf boots with a black web pattern on a red background. Square Enix has already declared its support for the system, and will likely develop other games for the Revolution as well. The standard costume is a form-fitting fabric covering his entire body. It has been speculated that Square Enix may be releasing new additions of the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest series on multiple systems, most likely the Revolution and the PS3. Although the details and proportions have changed somewhat over the years, with a few notable exceptions, Spider-Man's costume has remained fairly consistent. [36] It is interesting to note that if one brightens up the video, an object that just might be the transceiver for the controller can be seen above the TV. The last issue of "The Other" series revealed two of Spider-Man's new abilities including the ability to see in the dark and an ability to "feel" his environment as he can detect vibrations from his immediate surroundings due to his web and hairs on his arms. [35] If this is true, this could possibly be the exclusive FPS that Ubisoft is making. In a 2005 story arc spanning 12 parts, across several titles, Spider-Man finds himself cursed, killed, and eventually reborn in a metamorphic experience which "evolves" his powers, including the addition of new "stingers," as well as upgraded speed and spider-sense. There have been rumors on the Internet about a first person shooter called No End Soon. Thanks to Spider-Man's membership in the latest incarnation of the Marvel Universe superhero team the Avengers, Peter, Mary Jane and Aunt May were able to move into Tony Stark's Stark Tower. If this is true, it will most likely because they would want to make a Sonic game that takes advantage of the controller rather than just a port. In 2004, an altercation with a former classmate turned superhuman, Charlie Weiderman, led to the destruction of both Peter's apartment and Aunt May's house. There are rumors that Sega is creating a next-gen Sonic game, [33] that is different from the game announced for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 at the Tokyo Game Show 2005, [34] for Revolution. Currently, Parker works as a science teacher for his old high school while still moonlighting as a freelance photographer for the Daily Bugle. Sega titles are already available on the GameTap Service. The plan was a success, and Peter battled Morlun again, and aided by the impurity in his blood, defeated the villain, which led to Morlun's apparent death at the hands of his own lackey. Some of the CD-based games would need to be either stored on external SD cards that the Revolution supports or delivered on optical discs, given the system's expected 512MB of internal storage. After a fight between Peter and Morlun that spanned New York, wherein Morlun severely beat Peter—whose attacks had no effect on Morlun—Peter fell back onto his last plan: Morlun wanted only pure spider-blood, so Peter injected another dose of radiation into his bloodstream, attempting to 'poison' his powers. This potentially includes titles released for the SG1000, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis/Megadrive, Sega CD, Sega 32x, and Sega Saturn. Morlun had come to New York for that reason: He feeds off the powers possessed by those connected to animal totems. Classic Sega titles may also be made available for download, in addition to classic Nintendo titles. Ezekiel suggested that the accident that gave Peter his abilities might not have been a fluke, and that he might have a deeper connection to a totemic spider spirit (not unlike DC's Animal Man, and his connection to "The Red"). Konami may be in the process of developing two projects for Revolution. Peter's life had begun to calm down in recent years, until a villain named Morlun, and an ally named Ezekiel (possessing the same powers as Peter) appeared. Third-party developers such as Activision, Atari, Capcom, Midway, Sega, EA Games, and THQ have made positive comments about the Revolution and will most likely be supporting the system, but have not announced any specific games themselves. This was called "clone deterioration", and was the final proof that Ben Reilly was the clone, and Peter was the original. NIBRIS has found a Publisher for both systems. Reilly was killed saving Peter's life, and shortly thereafter, his body crumbled into ashes. Raid over the River, a game developed by NIBRIS, based in Poland, is currently being developed exclusively for the Nintendo DS and the upcoming next-generation Nintendo console. Norman Osborn (the original green goblin) was resurrected (in a controversial storyline itself) and revealed that he had manipulated the tests which indicated Reilly as the real Parker. NGC Magazine then rebutted Nintendo's rebuttal, claiming that a senior source within Nintendo positively confirmed the alleged controller features.[32]. For a brief stint, Ben Reilly was Spider-Man, and even defeated Venom singlehandedly. Nintendo later issued a statement, declaring NGC Magazine's rumor to be just that: pure speculation. When Ben Reilly came to New York to see Aunt May, it was revealed that he was the true Peter Parker. NGC Magazine claims that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, when inserted into the Nintendo Revolution, will utilize its native "free-hand" controller. Miles Warren (aka the Jackal). Miyamoto said in an EGM interview that he is thinking of making a Pikmin game for Revolution. It was revealed that the clone had survived the first "clone saga", involving Dr. Mr. In one of the most controversial stories of the 1990s, Marvel reintroduced a short-lived clone of Spider-Man, now calling himself Ben Reilly. In an interview with IGN, Shigeru Miyamoto hinted that a new Kid Icarus may be in development for the Nintendo Revolution.[31]. Ultimate Spider-Man. Animal Crossing Revolution has been confirmed by IGN. Television. Pilotwings 3 may be slated for a Nintendo Revolution release, after being cancelled for the GameCube. Comics. [30]. Peter Parker/Spider-Man has many love interests in his life:. Miyamoto. Eventually, the two married, but the stresses of Parker's dual identity, combined with Mary Jane's tempestuous career, led to a separation, though the couple later reconciled.
