It is slated to be released on DVD and on a UMD disc for the PSP handheld console. Its official theatrical release date was on September 10, 2005 as the grand public opening. It was released in Japan on September 14, 2005, and the release dates for North America, Europe, Australia, and other countries are TBA. The movie received the Honorary Maria Award at the Festival Internacional de Cinema de Cataluña on October 15, 2005. The official Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children website placed a countdown, showing the number of days, hours, minutes and seconds until the final release. However, due to the release date being pushed back several times, the timer was removed. Special Editions of this movie have been released, including the Ultimate Edition "Advent Pieces: Limited", which includes the OVA Last Order: Final Fantasy VII. This was the first announced title in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. The film's soundtrack, scored by Nobuo Uematsu, was released on September 28, 2005. PlotSpoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.
Two years after the events of Final Fantasy VII, the Planet has begun healing itself from the devastating attack from Meteor, but a strange disease known as "Geostigma" ("Seikon-Shoukougun" or Star Scar Syndrome in Japanese version) has arisen. It is proving to be fatal, and children seem to be at greater risk. Cloud Strife, who is also infected with the disease, has secluded himself from the world, still haunted by Aerith Gainsborough's death. However, he has established his own delivery service with the aide of Tifa Lockhart. He had lived with her along with Barret Wallace and Marlene Wallace for a while in their newly recontructed bar, 7th Heaven in the city of Edge. Tifa's bar is now an orphanage for the infected children. While Barrett is away to settle his past, Marlene Wallace, Barrett's adopted daughter, is entrusted to the care of Tifa. With them is a boy named Denzel, who Cloud, Tifa, and Marlene have taken in as their own. The survivors of Midgar have begun to build a new home on the edge of the city, aptly named 'Edge'. In the center is a monument to Midgar's destruction - Meteor. The president of the former Shin-Ra company, Rufus Shinra, is confined to a wheelchair, due to the energy draining effects of geostigma. He is coordinating searches by the Turks for the effects that Sephiroth had left on the planet. Three unknown figures appear and begin searching for Jenova's remains to complete the Reunion. The leader of the trio, Kadaj, claims that Geostigma is due to the Jenova cells corrupting the Lifestream. He somewhat knows Cloud, referring to him as "brother" and "traitor," most likely due to the fact that, though they are both "bound" by Jenova and Geostigma, Cloud is trying to stop Kadaj and his crew rather than embrace their efforts to further the virus. Vincent Valentine suspects that the trio is seeking to obtain the remains of Jenova to create another Sephiroth, and suggests that Geostigma is the result of Lifestream inside one's body battling the Jenova cells within it. Tifa and Marlene go looking for Cloud at the church where Aerith spent time and grew her flowers, and where Cloud has apparently been living. It is here they discover that Cloud has Geostigma and does not have the will to fight it. Loz arrives at the church, attacking Tifa while searching for the location of Jenova. After a hard fought battle, Tifa is knocked unconscious, and Loz kidnaps Marlene and steals Cloud's materia. Cloud returns to the church where he discovers Tifa unconscious and his materia stolen, and collapses next to Tifa due to the effects his Geostigma. They are found by the Turks Reno and Rude who bring them back to 7th Heaven. Tifa fighting Loz in Aerith's church. The three members of Kadaj's gang begin kidnapping the children who are infected with Geostigma, including Denzel. They take the children to the Forgotten Capital, Ajit, where Kadaj tries to persuade them that the planet is inflicting this disease upon them and that they should rally together against the planet. He then walks into the very lake where Aerith was laid to rest two years prior, and as he does so, corrupts it, turning it black. He takes a drink and tells the children to follow suit. They do, entering a trance-like state, the pupils of their eyes becoming narrow slits like those of Kadaj. As it gets late, Tifa wakes up, finding Cloud staring out the window. She confronts him about his Geostigma, asking him if he wants to die alone. Cloud does not answer, which clearly frustrates Tifa. Reno and Rude return, telling Cloud and Tifa that Kadaj has taken the children to The Forgotten City of Ajit. On his way, riding on his motorcycle Fenrir, Cloud has a vision of Aerith, standing back-to-back with him in a field of flowers. She puts a hand gently on his arm, asking him why exactly he came. Cloud hangs his head and asks to be forgiven, but Aerith just giggles and asks "By whom?" Cloud tries to turn around to face her, but the vision ends. Suddenly, he is confronted by a hail of gunfire. Kadaj "controls" the children, using them as a human shield, and making them surround Cloud, ensuring that he cannot escape. Kadaj begins calling him a "traitor" and is about to execute him when Marlene calls out Cloud's name, distracting Kadaj and allowing Cloud to grab his sword. During the battle of one VS three, Cloud performs his limit break "Blade Beam" against the "Quake" magic attack from Loz. This leads to a battle, in which Cloud is defeated by the three, but saved by Vincent Valentine. Vincent says he had also saved Tseng and Elena by nursing them back to health after they had been tortured by Kadaj's gang. After having a discussion about their current situation, Marlene comes and yells at Cloud when he says he wants to back down from fighting again. It is here Cloud has a another flashback of what happened prior to arriving to the Forgotten Capital. Rude tells them that the children have been taken to Ajit. Hesitating, Cloud decides instead to go talk to Rufus. Tifa has obviously had it with Cloud, and lectures him, speaking her thoughts about how he is pained by past failures, and how he always wants to be alone. She pauses and says, "Have we lost to our memories?" Cloud just hangs his head and says, "But...we just let her die." Aerith's voice is then heard, suggesting to Cloud that he should forgive himself instead of drifting away. As the flashback ends, he asks Vincent if his sin can be forgiven. Vincent just replies that he had never tried. This slightly confuses Cloud, but he says he'll give it a try and let Vincent know how it goes. Hand in hand with Marlene, they head back to the city.
A sort of nostalgic scene ensues when the other Final Fantasy VII party members (Barrett, Red XIII, Cait Sith, Yuffie, Cid, and Vincent) show up at this point to battle Ex-Bahamut, as Tifa protects the possessed Denzel. Denzel awakens from his zombie-like state after Denzel and Tifa are knocked unconscious from one of Bahmut's blasts. The members each protect them in turn, finally with the arrival of Cloud on Fenrir. Cloud tells Tifa that he returned Marlene to the bar, and that the sin feels lighter, to which she smiles. Denzel then says he'll go back to the bar too, asking Cloud if he'll return. Cloud nods as the boy turns to run back to the bar. Bahamut wreaks havoc on the newly constructed Edge until Cloud joins in. At first, Cloud performs his limit break "Braver" to hit Bahamut down the ground. But, "Braver" is not powerful enough to defeat Bahamut. With the help of the entire party boosting Cloud into the sky toward Bahamut, Cloud has a vision Aerith reaching out to him, helping to get Cloud through Bahamut's largest attack. He takes her hand, and she gives him the strength he needs to push through. With that, he goes through Bahamut's Mega Flare and finally takes it down using his Limit Break "Climhazzard". Meanwhile, Rufus reveals to Kadaj that he really isn't as weak as he was leading everyone to believe, jumping out of the wheel chair and throwing off the white blanket he had been wearing. He also reveals the remains of Jenova that is sealed in a black box, which he had been hiding on his lap under the blanket. He tosses it off the edge of the building, and in a blind rage Kadaj fires a materia blast at Rufus. Surprisingly, Rufus easily dodges it, and in the process he loses the bandages covering his head and allows himself to fall of the ledge. He then quickly pulls out his shotgun out from his jacket, and begins to fire at the gas pipe above Kadaj's head. Kadaj leaps off the exploding buidling in order to try and save the box from hitting the ground. Rufus changes his target to the falling Jenova container. After a few missed shots, he manages to hit the box, causing its contents to spill. Kadaj still manages to retrieve it but doesn't know it has been hit. Rufus is then saved by Tseng and Elena, who quickly shoot nets to break Rufus' fall. Before Kadaj can celebrate, he notices Cloud is hot on his tail. There is a chase scene on a partially constructed highway, where Loz and Yazoo both try and stall Cloud, who fail due to a timely arrival of Reno and Rude. Rude had made a "refinement of Shinra technology," AKA strapping a bunch of TNT and fireworks together, which detonates and damages Loz and Yazoo. A duel on the cycles gives Kadaj a head start, and slashes at Cloud's infected arm. He removes his sleeve to reveal a pink ribbon which all of the party members have tied to their arms. Its speculated that this is a sign of their friendship and also to show their grief for Aerith's death. Cloud manages to catch up to Kadaj in the Church, where Kadaj tries to attack Cloud with magic. He misses, but hits the still blooming flower garden. Water wells up from the created hole and rises into the air, both physically harming Kadaj and healing Cloud of his Geostigma. A drop of water falls and Aerith's voice is heard, softly encouraging him "Let's go, Cloud". This rain water is thought to be Aerith's final limit break, Great Gospel. Cloud continues to pursue Kadaj, and confronts him again in a one on one battle, which is almost cut short due to the rest of the party arriving in the Sierra, Cid Highwind's new airship. He had named it after his assistant Sierra (Shera in English localizations). However, Tifa and Vincent manage to convince everyone not to interfere, because this is Cloud's fight. Vincent reveals that Kadaj is in fact a "Larva" of Sephiroth, meaning that one day he would turn into Sephiroth. The Sierra flies off, which puts a small smile to Cloud's face, before he finally defeats Kadaj with his other Limit Break, Finishing Touch. Kadaj drops his sword and falls from the building. Kadaj hangs from the edge of a building with one hand, with Cloud standing above him. However, instead of admitting defeat, Kadaj throws the container containing Jenova's remains Cloud, who slices it open out of reaction, allwoing Kadaj to absorb the contents as he falls. Cloud jumps down after him, and tries to finish him with one strike, but Kadaj stops him by raising his hands and instantly transforms into Sephiroth while the Masamune forms in his grasp at the point of Cloud's impact. (background music changes to Sairin: Katayoku no Tenshi, a reprised, rock-orchestra version of One-Winged Angel) Sephiroth reveals to Cloud that the spirits of people who died with Geostigma would stain the planet, thus allowing him to control it. He would use it to travel the stars until he finds another planet to crash into, just like Jenova did. An awesome fight scene follows, and Cloud battles Sephiroth for some time, including performing "Cross Slash" against him, but Sephiroth successfully dodged it. Sephiroth commenting that Cloud has become stronger. Sephiroth tires Cloud to exhaustion, and as Cloud collapses on a wall, Sephiroth stabs him below the shoulder. He asks Cloud what is most important to him, so that he can have the pleasure of destroying it. Scenes of Aerith, Zack, Tifa, Marlene, and Denzel are flashed by. Cloud removes Sephiroth's blade from his shoulder, and states, "I pity you who understands nothing." Sephiroth leaps into the air and Cloud declares, "There's nothing that isn't important to me!" right before he leaps into the air, separating his sword into six pieces and performs a new Limit Break (Translates to " Omnislash Version 5," a variation of Cloud's infamous ultimate Limit Break from Final Fantasy VII. The new limit break consists of him manifesting 6 swords and dashing through Sephiroth with each one.) to defeat Sephiroth. The defeated Sephiroth floats over Cloud with a newly formed single black-feathered wing. Cloud says, "Stay there for me, trapped in memories" Sephiroth just smiles and replies, "I won't just be a memory..." before his wing wraps around him and crumbles, revealing a wasted away Kadaj. Kadaj, dying in Cloud's arms, hears the voice of Aerith, telling him to return home. Mistaking Aerith for "mother", he makes the motion of reaching out to the sky, and joyfully returns to the Lifestream, leaving Cloud behind, victorious. It begins raining. Scenes are shown throughout Edge of the sick children with Geostigma being cured with this rain, a large scale version of Great Gospel. Rufus is shown in an alley, sitting in his wheelchair, surrounded by Elena, Tseng, Rude, and Reno, and is also cured by the healing rain. The party onboard the Sierra are shown celebrating. A drop of water catches Tifa's eye, and she looks up, smiling. She says (referring to Aerith) "You were with us all along, weren't you? Thank you." As Cloud stands in the rain, smiling, he is suddenly shot from behind by Yazoo, who along with Loz, has survived the Turks' blast (although they too are being taken by the purifying water). Cloud rises up again, ready for one last go. He turns, his lips distorted into a snarl as he charges them, scraping his sword on the roof of the building. Loz and Yazoo raise their hands, a blue aura surrounding both of their arms, and as Cloud makes his swing, they unleash a final blast, and the explosion covers the entire roof. Seeing the area where Cloud was fighting explode, the crew onboard the Sierra react in shock, and Tifa calls out to Cloud. Denzel and Marlene are shown in Tifa's bar holding hands and looking out the window, Denzel asking "Cloud is coming back...right?" Lying in a blank expanse, Aerith puts her hand on Cloud's forehead. Cloud calls out, "Mother?" Aerith then replies "Again? I wonder how many times I've been called 'Mother' today?" Zack, seeing this, asks Aerith "Isn't it nice to be yearned for?" Finally, he explains to Cloud that his place isn't here with them, and that he must return home. Aerith and Zack saying goodbye to Cloud. He awakens in Aerith's church in Sector 5, surrounded by his friends and the children. He cures Denzel, the last child with Geostigma, by bringing him into the newly formed pool in the middle of the church and pouring some water on Denzel's head. It is here where Cloud smiles for the first time in the movie. He then looks up and scans the church, doing a doubletake when he sees Aerith crouching by two children. Everything else stops. His eyes widen and his mouth falls open slightly. Aerith stands up and walks to the door, where Zack is leaning. Knowing he is alright now, Aerith turns back and smiles at Cloud, revealing her face for the first time in the movie. She and Zack walk out the door and into the light, finally at peace. Cloud watches them leave, smiles, and says, "Yeah... I'm... not alone." Bonus endingA small cutscene is shown after the main credits to "Calling" by Kyosuke Himuro. This scene features images of Cloud travelling on his motorcycle, Fenrir, through various landscapes. As the song reaches its climax, a flower field is shown that Cloud appears to be approaching and the camera pans out to show Aerith standing in this field. We see her at first from the side, but she turns her head eventually to face the camera, and, many speculate, to face Cloud. Cloud rides further into the horizon towards the flower field, smiling. The last scene shows Cloud's desk at 7th Heaven filled with postcards, letters and photographs of the places he has visited. A close up of his desk is shown with a new photograph of him and the AVALANCHE crew together (notable because the picture that was originally shown, only showed Tifa, Marlene, Denzel, and on the side; the new picture implies that Cloud is holding on to his new happiness) and a small bouquet of flowers (from the field shown earlier) laid in front of it. On the Way to a SmileThere is a small series of stories taking place between the time Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Written by Kazushige Nojima, they are being released in episodes on the Japanese Advent Children website, and are currently only in Japanese. Various fan translations are available online. Case of Denzel One day Denzel shows up in Johnny's store to have a private meeting with Reeve Tuetsi. He is interviewing to become part of Reeve's new World Restoration Order, an army devoted to rebuilding the Planet. Denzel then goes on to tell his story of how he became an orphan, the events of that fateful day in which the Lifestream emerged to save the Planet from Meteor, when he got Geostigma, and how came into the care of Tifa, Cloud, and Marlene. Case of Tifa GeostigmaGeostigma is a term used to describe the illness plaguing the inhabitants of the film world of Advent Children. What geostigma is exactly was widely speculated upon amongst fans of the game prior to the film's release; however, in the movie it was revealed geostigma is actually the negative side-effects of one's body overexerting itself in an attempt to purge Jenova's cells from within. After Cloud and company defeat Sephiroth and Jenova inside the Northern Crater in Final Fantasy VII, Jenova's cells are distributed within the Lifestream. It is explained that the body itself has a Lifestream born of the larger Lifestream encompassing the planet. The Lifestream gives life by breaking itself into smaller streams allowing people to live. Once the body dies, the stream within the body reconvenes with the larger stream, bringing back knowledge and information. This is also how materia/magic is made (since the Lifestream has infinite knowledge, in a concentrated form the knowledge is used as magic for living beings). Once implanted within the Lifestream and once the Lifestream breached the Planet's surface during the ending of Final Fantasy VII, Jenova's cells are distributed to the surface populace. Once Jenova's cells are erradicated through the healing power of Aerith's Great Gospel, the illness is cured. Release informationOriginally, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children was scheduled for a September dual-release in both Japan and North America, with Japan obtaining a special release of the DVD with more extras and collectable offers than the US release (which is the norm in Japan where rabid Otaku are known to pay more for collectables and there is a defined market for these items.) The official website for the English version of Advent Children even had a countdown clock to the release of the DVD. But days before the United States release, Square Enix changed the date to November 2005, in a move that would indicate that Square Enix was trying to release the DVD during the lucrative holiday sales times. The time was changed again in early November to a January release date (with initial confusion given that many retail outlets got different release dates and information that didn't match), with a limited theatrical run before the release of the DVD. Fans have pointed out that the idea is a questionable one, given the track record of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, which bankrupted Square Pictures after the movie made a substantial loss. Currently there is no known date for when Advent Children will be released in the North American market, though many online retailers, mostly those specializing in sale of anime dvd titles, list March 28, 2006 as the most common unconfirmed release date. In an article for the website The Digital Bits, it was hinted that the movie is at least on track to be released by the end of 2006. It was mentioned that it is taking extra time in completing the bonus supplements. [2] Due to the delay, many fans have resorted to downloading fansubs over BitTorrent and/or importing the Japanese R2 version in order to watch the film. CreditsCharacters and Voice actorsVoice actors (English)It is widely speculated by fans that the characters that appeared in Kingdom Hearts will be voiced by the actors who voiced them in that game. It is also believed that a lack of appropriate English voice actors is the cause of the significant delay of the American, British, and Australian releases of the movie. Square-Enix's reluctance to release the names of any voice actors is evidence of this. Walter Roberts was the narrator in E3 2004 and Steamboy trailers (according to iMDB). Also Wally Wingert confirmed that he would play Rufus on his webpage. Developers

Walter Roberts was the narrator in E3 2004 and Steamboy trailers (according to iMDB). Note: W = Wins, L = Losses, T = Ties. Square-Enix's reluctance to release the names of any voice actors is evidence of this. The team now alternates between the blue colored pants and white pants, although they usually wear all blue at home and all white when playing away. It is also believed that a lack of appropriate English voice actors is the cause of the significant delay of the American, British, and Australian releases of the movie. The helmets also were changed from silver to the darker blue color after a fan poll was conducted. It is widely speculated by fans that the characters that appeared in Kingdom Hearts will be voiced by the actors who voiced them in that game. The colors were modified to become a darker blue and a more neon green. It was mentioned that it is taking extra time in completing the bonus supplements. Seattle fell short in its bid for its first NFL title, losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers at Super Bowl XL in Detroit on February 5, 2006 by a score of 21-10. In an article for the website The Digital Bits, it was hinted that the movie is at least on track to be released by the end of 2006. On January 22nd, 2006 Seattle clinched its first Super Bowl berth in franchise history as they beat the Carolina Panthers 34-14. Currently there is no known date for when Advent Children will be released in the North American market, though many online retailers, mostly those specializing in sale of anime dvd titles, list March 28, 2006 as the most common unconfirmed release date. The win ended the franchise's 21-year playoff victory drought. Fans have pointed out that the idea is a questionable one, given the track record of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, which bankrupted Square Pictures after the movie made a substantial loss. Shaun Alexander suffered a concussion in the first quarter, but the Seahawks managed to prevail by a final score of 20-10. The time was changed again in early November to a January release date (with initial confusion given that many retail outlets got different release dates and information that didn't match), with a limited theatrical run before the release of the DVD. After having the first round bye in the playoffs, the Seahawks hosted the Washington Redskins in the Divisional Playoff Round. But days before the United States release, Square Enix changed the date to November 2005, in a move that would indicate that Square Enix was trying to release the DVD during the lucrative holiday sales times. C Robbie Tobeck and rookie MLB Lofa Tatupu were added to the Roster after injuries to Chicago's Brian Urlacher and Olin Kreutz. Originally, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children was scheduled for a September dual-release in both Japan and North America, with Japan obtaining a special release of the DVD with more extras and collectable offers than the US release (which is the norm in Japan where rabid Otaku are known to pay more for collectables and there is a defined market for these items.) The official website for the English version of Advent Children even had a countdown clock to the release of the DVD. The players included MVP RB Shaun Alexander, QB Matt Hasselbeck, LT Walter Jones, LG Steve Hutchinson and FB Mack Strong. Once Jenova's cells are erradicated through the healing power of Aerith's Great Gospel, the illness is cured. Seven Seahawks players were selected for the 2006 Pro Bowl, tying a franchise record set in 1984. Once implanted within the Lifestream and once the Lifestream breached the Planet's surface during the ending of Final Fantasy VII, Jenova's cells are distributed to the surface populace. Four days later, he was named the 2005 NFL MVP. This is also how materia/magic is made (since the Lifestream has infinite knowledge, in a concentrated form the knowledge is used as magic for living beings). He also ended the season with the league's most rushing yards for the season with 1,880 yards. Once the body dies, the stream within the body reconvenes with the larger stream, bringing back knowledge and information. On January 1, 2006, despite losing to the Green Bay Packers 23-17, Shaun Alexander broke Priest Holmes's record for most rushing touchdowns in a single season, with his 28th touchdown coming in the 2nd quarter of the game. The Lifestream gives life by breaking itself into smaller streams allowing people to live. In addition, the schedule makers set a record with the first regular season game where the teams combined for at least 25 victories. It is explained that the body itself has a Lifestream born of the larger Lifestream encompassing the planet. The game featured the highest scoring and winningest teams against each other, and each looking to set a franchise record for most wins in a season. After Cloud and company defeat Sephiroth and Jenova inside the Northern Crater in Final Fantasy VII, Jenova's cells are distributed within the Lifestream. Interestingly enough, the Colts-Seahawks game set records well before kickoff. What geostigma is exactly was widely speculated upon amongst fans of the game prior to the film's release; however, in the movie it was revealed geostigma is actually the negative side-effects of one's body overexerting itself in an attempt to purge Jenova's cells from within. The victory also clinched the top seed in the NFC playoffs for the Seahawks assuring them of a home playoff game during the weekend of January 14-15, 2006 against the lowest remaining NFC seed (which turned out to be the Washington Redskins). Geostigma is a term used to describe the illness plaguing the inhabitants of the film world of Advent Children. Shaun Alexander scored three touchdowns in the game and tied Priest Holmes for the NFL record for touchdowns in a season with 27. This story was never released in English, which led to many fan-based sites to do their own translating [1]. On Christmas Eve, the Seahawks beat the Colts 28-13 setting the franchise record for wins in season with 13. It helps to uncover some of the mysteries around the beginning of the movie, and its location. However, they wouldn't be denied as QB Matt Hasselbeck threw a game-winning 2-yard pass to WR Darrell Jackson, to end up with a 28-24 victory. Case of Tifa He is interviewing to become part of Reeve's new World Restoration Order, an army devoted to rebuilding the Planet. After smashing the Niners, the Seahawks traveled to The Coliseum to face the Tennessee Titans. One day Denzel shows up in Johnny's store to have a private meeting with Reeve Tuetsi. At least four team records were set during this game, including the lowest yards ever allowed by a Seahawk defense at 113, the biggest two game margin of victory, the first time the team has posted three forty point wins in a season, and the franchise record for wins in a row at 9. However, her attention is mostly focused on caring for the children orphaned by the many recent tragedies. With some starters playing less than three quarters for the second game in a row, the victory put the Seahawks at 11-2 with three games remaining, just one win shy of their franchise record 12 wins (12-4 overall) in 1984. Many started going to Tifa's new 7th Heaven, also rebuilt in Edge, because they saw her as something of a feature attraction. On December 11, 2005, the week after their Monday night rout of the Eagles, the Seahawks defeated the San Fransisco 49ers 41-3, making their margin of victory for the two-week period 80 points (team record), and marking the first time in team history that the Seahawks had recorded three forty point or better games in a season. Impressed by Tifa's decisiveness as to how to get on with life while everyone else still seemed at a loss, Johnny would start telling his customers stories about how wonderful Tifa was, and soon he lost business because of it. When the game had finished, the Seahawks had handed the Eagles their 3rd worst defeat in team history (Seattle also handed the Eagles their 5th worst defeat since 1998, the last time the Seahawks played in Philadelphia). Johnny, the bumbling regular of Tifa's 7th Heaven bar from the original game, has opened up his own bar in the newly built city of Edge. A fourth interception return by Michael Boulware fell just short of tying another Seahawks NFL record of four defensive scores in a single game, set during a 45-0 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in 1984. Case of Denzel Written by Kazushige Nojima, they are being released in episodes on the Japanese Advent Children website, and are currently only in Japanese. With the score 21-21, opposing kicker Jay Feely missed three chances for a winning field goal (one as time expired in regulation and two in OT). The last scene shows Cloud's desk at 7th Heaven filled with postcards, letters and photographs of the places he has visited. A week later, the Seahawks went home and played a close game with the eventual NFC East champion New York Giants. Cloud rides further into the horizon towards the flower field, smiling. Fortunately for the Seahawks, the Niners couldn't tie on the two-point conversion and Seattle held on for the win (27-25). We see her at first from the side, but she turns her head eventually to face the camera, and, many speculate, to face Cloud. The Niners started to rally, however, and in the final seconds, the 49ers got within two points with a 1-yard touchdown run by Maurice Hicks. As the song reaches its climax, a flower field is shown that Cloud appears to be approaching and the camera pans out to show Aerith standing in this field. The following week, they were on the road against the Washington Redskins. The following week at home, they dispatched the division rival Arizona 37-12. Lying in a blank expanse, Aerith puts her hand on Cloud's forehead. In Week 2, their home-opener was against the same team that they beat on the last game of the 2004 regular season, the Atlanta Falcons (21-18). Denzel and Marlene are shown in Tifa's bar holding hands and looking out the window, Denzel asking "Cloud is coming back...right?". They lost their first game of the season on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars 26-14. Seeing the area where Cloud was fighting explode, the crew onboard the Sierra react in shock, and Tifa calls out to Cloud. The Seahawks got off to a rocky start on their 2005 campaign but it would end with their first Super Bowl appearance. Loz and Yazoo raise their hands, a blue aura surrounding both of their arms, and as Cloud makes his swing, they unleash a final blast, and the explosion covers the entire roof. Louis Rams. He turns, his lips distorted into a snarl as he charges them, scraping his sword on the roof of the building. They lost the first home playoff game at Qwest Field to the St. Cloud rises up again, ready for one last go. The Seahawks also won their third division championship in 2004, when they claimed the NFC West title. As Cloud stands in the rain, smiling, he is suddenly shot from behind by Yazoo, who along with Loz, has survived the Turks' blast (although they too are being taken by the purifying water). Some current players were either very young children or not even born when the last 49ers shutout occurred. She says (referring to Aerith) "You were with us all along, weren't you? Thank you.". The 49ers were in a position to score in the 4th quarter, but an interception and a fumble recovery sealed their fate. A drop of water catches Tifa's eye, and she looks up, smiling. This marked the end of the 49ers' league record 27 year streak without a shutout - the last such game being against Atlanta in 1977 (7-0). The party onboard the Sierra are shown celebrating. On September 26, 2004 the Seahawks shutout the San Francisco 49ers 34-0. Rufus is shown in an alley, sitting in his wheelchair, surrounded by Elena, Tseng, Rude, and Reno, and is also cured by the healing rain. The playoff game would go into overtime, where quarterback Hasselback made the prediction "we want the ball, and we're going to score." Unfortunately for Seattle, an Al Harris interception returned for a TD sealed the Seahawks fate and they were out of the playoffs again. Scenes are shown throughout Edge of the sick children with Geostigma being cured with this rain, a large scale version of Great Gospel. They went to the playoffs where they would face Holmgren's former team, the Green Bay Packers. It begins raining. The Seahawks responded by carrying over the momentum from 2002 by finishing with a 10-6 record and a perfect record at home of 8-0. Mistaking Aerith for "mother", he makes the motion of reaching out to the sky, and joyfully returns to the Lifestream, leaving Cloud behind, victorious. Before the 2003 season, Holmgren decided to step down as general manager so that he could concentrate exclusively on improving the team. Kadaj, dying in Cloud's arms, hears the voice of Aerith, telling him to return home. But the team finished with a 7-9 record. Cloud says, "Stay there for me, trapped in memories" Sephiroth just smiles and replies, "I won't just be a memory..." before his wing wraps around him and crumbles, revealing a wasted away Kadaj. He would end the season on a 3 game winning streak and Shaun Alexander lead the NFC with 18 touchdowns. The defeated Sephiroth floats over Cloud with a newly formed single black-feathered wing. The year would prove to be one of ups-and-downs as Dilfer was injured in Week 7 and Hasselbeck became the starting QB. The new limit break consists of him manifesting 6 swords and dashing through Sephiroth with each one.) to defeat Sephiroth. This was because of the addition of the expansion team Houston Texans and to achieve parity among the divisions. When the Seahawks left Husky Stadium at the end of the 2001 season they were part of the AFC West but when they moved into Seahawks Stadium they were now part of the NFC West. Scenes of Aerith, Zack, Tifa, Marlene, and Denzel are flashed by. Big changes were afoot in 2002. He asks Cloud what is most important to him, so that he can have the pleasure of destroying it. QB Trent Dilfer was signed and won his first four games and the Seahawks finished the 2001 season with a 9-7 record but didn't make the playoffs. Sephiroth tires Cloud to exhaustion, and as Cloud collapses on a wall, Sephiroth stabs him below the shoulder. But Hasselbeck struggled in the first half of the season compiling a 5-7 record. Sephiroth commenting that Cloud has become stronger. Holmgren then traded for Green Bay Packers backup QB Matt Hasselbeck and made him the starting QB. An awesome fight scene follows, and Cloud battles Sephiroth for some time, including performing "Cross Slash" against him, but Sephiroth successfully dodged it. But QB Jon Kitna was let go after the 2000 season and a 6-10 record. He would use it to travel the stars until he finds another planet to crash into, just like Jenova did. The Seahawks drafted RB Shaun Alexander in 2000 draft as their RB of the future. Sephiroth reveals to Cloud that the spirits of people who died with Geostigma would stain the planet, thus allowing him to control it. For the 2000-2001 seasons the Seahawks moved back to Husky Stadium while their new stadium was being built. (background music changes to Sairin: Katayoku no Tenshi, a reprised, rock-orchestra version of One-Winged Angel). But they lost 20-17 to Dan Marino and the Miami Dolphins after leading the game 17-13 in the fourth quarter. Cloud jumps down after him, and tries to finish him with one strike, but Kadaj stops him by raising his hands and instantly transforms into Sephiroth while the Masamune forms in his grasp at the point of Cloud's impact. Holmgren would lead the Seahawks to a division title and to the playoffs in his first year there. However, instead of admitting defeat, Kadaj throws the container containing Jenova's remains Cloud, who slices it open out of reaction, allwoing Kadaj to absorb the contents as he falls. With the addition of a new stadium, new head coach and general manager, Mike Holmgren, a new era began for the Seahawks. Kadaj hangs from the edge of a building with one hand, with Cloud standing above him. In 1999 the voters approved the ballot measure to allow the Seahawks to build a brand new stadium to replace the aging Kingdome. Kadaj drops his sword and falls from the building. Vinny Testaverde's "Phantom Touchdown" decided the game; a legendary officiating error that became a primary factor in the NFL's reinstatement of instant replay. The Sierra flies off, which puts a small smile to Cloud's face, before he finally defeats Kadaj with his other Limit Break, Finishing Touch. Dennis Erickson was fired at the end of the 1998 season after losing to the New York Jets and missing the playoffs. Vincent reveals that Kadaj is in fact a "Larva" of Sephiroth, meaning that one day he would turn into Sephiroth. As a result of the change in ownership and management, Tom Flores resigned in 1998 and was replaced by Bob Whitsitt. However, Tifa and Vincent manage to convince everyone not to interfere, because this is Cloud's fight. The other Kingdome tenants, the Seattle Mariners, were building a brand new stadium, and the Seahawks felt there was no good reason to remain in the decrepit Kingdome. He had named it after his assistant Sierra (Shera in English localizations). Allen bought the team in 1997 after funding a special election on stadium funding. Cloud continues to pursue Kadaj, and confronts him again in a one on one battle, which is almost cut short due to the rest of the party arriving in the Sierra, Cid Highwind's new airship. This grassroots effort succeeded when Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen purchased an option to buy the team. This rain water is thought to be Aerith's final limit break, Great Gospel. Grassroots groups like Save Our Seahawks soon formed to pressure the NFL, Behring, and local officials to stop the move. A drop of water falls and Aerith's voice is heard, softly encouraging him "Let's go, Cloud". In January 1996, Seahawks owner Ken Behring announced that he was moving the franchise to Los Angeles where the team would play at Anaheim Stadium. Water wells up from the created hole and rises into the air, both physically harming Kadaj and healing Cloud of his Geostigma. He was replaced by University of Miami coach Dennis Erickson. He misses, but hits the still blooming flower garden. Upon returning to the Kingdome, the team finished with a 6-10 record; Tom Flores resigned his coaching position and returned to his general manager duties. Cloud manages to catch up to Kadaj in the Church, where Kadaj tries to attack Cloud with magic. The Seahawks moved to nearby Husky Stadium on the campus of the University of Washington for 3 games after an acoustic tile fell inside the Kingdome in 1994. Its speculated that this is a sign of their friendship and also to show their grief for Aerith's death. After struggling in Seattle for 3 seasons he was traded to the Chicago Bears after the 1996 season. He removes his sleeve to reveal a pink ribbon which all of the party members have tied to their arms. In 1993 the Seahawks drafted Rick Mirer, with the second pick in the draft, in hopes that he would be able to be the franchise's quarterback of the future. A duel on the cycles gives Kadaj a head start, and slashes at Cloud's infected arm. The only bright spot for the 1992 season was defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy being declared NFL Defensive Player of the Year. Rude had made a "refinement of Shinra technology," AKA strapping a bunch of TNT and fireworks together, which detonates and damages Loz and Yazoo. 1992 would also prove to be the Seahawks' worst year ever when they finished 2-14. There is a chase scene on a partially constructed highway, where Loz and Yazoo both try and stall Cloud, who fail due to a timely arrival of Reno and Rude. Longtime quarterback Dave Krieg left in 1992 and was replaced by three different quarterbacks (first-round pick Dan McGwire, Stan Gelbaugh and Kelly Stouffer). Before Kadaj can celebrate, he notices Cloud is hot on his tail. Team president/GM Tom Flores assumed the head coaching duties for the 1992 season. Rufus is then saved by Tseng and Elena, who quickly shoot nets to break Rufus' fall. After finishing with a 7-9 record, he resigned to rejoin the Los Angeles Rams. Kadaj still manages to retrieve it but doesn't know it has been hit. 1991 would be Chuck Knox's last year as head coach of the Seahawks. After a few missed shots, he manages to hit the box, causing its contents to spill. These years would prove to be the most tumultuous of the franchise's history so far. Rufus changes his target to the falling Jenova container. A year later he would name former Los Angeles Raiders head coach Tom Flores team president and general manager. Kadaj leaps off the exploding buidling in order to try and save the box from hitting the ground. In 1988, Ken Behring purchased the club from the original owners, the Nordstrom Family. He then quickly pulls out his shotgun out from his jacket, and begins to fire at the gas pipe above Kadaj's head. Despite the 1983 season ending on a sour note, it was the first breakthrough season for the Seahawks, because Curt Warner was named AFC Rookie Of The Year and Chuck Knox was named AFC Coach Of The Year. Surprisingly, Rufus easily dodges it, and in the process he loses the bandages covering his head and allows himself to fall of the ledge. The Seahawks' miracle season ended in the AFC Championship as they lost to the eventual Super Bowl XVIII champion Los Angeles Raiders 30-14. He tosses it off the edge of the building, and in a blind rage Kadaj fires a materia blast at Rufus. The next week at the Miami Orange Bowl the Seahawks drove 66 yards in 5 plays that ended with a game-winning touchdown for the Seahawks' 27-20 victory over the Miami Dolphins and their rookie quarterback Dan Marino. He also reveals the remains of Jenova that is sealed in a black box, which he had been hiding on his lap under the blanket. In the wild-card playoffs the Seahawks shut down the Denver Broncos and their rookie quarterback John Elway 31-7. Meanwhile, Rufus reveals to Kadaj that he really isn't as weak as he was leading everyone to believe, jumping out of the wheel chair and throwing off the white blanket he had been wearing. They would win 2 of the next 3 games to earn their first ever playoff berth. With that, he goes through Bahamut's Mega Flare and finally takes it down using his Limit Break "Climhazzard". Then in week 13, the Seahawks beat the Kansas City Chiefs 51-48 at the Kingdome to start their winning ways. He takes her hand, and she gives him the strength he needs to push through. In 1983 the Seahawks were battling for a playoff berth with a 6-6 record. With the help of the entire party boosting Cloud into the sky toward Bahamut, Cloud has a vision Aerith reaching out to him, helping to get Cloud through Bahamut's largest attack. After a disappointing 1982 season (which was shortened because of a players' strike), the Seahawks moved interim coach Mike McCormack back into the front office and hired Chuck Knox as their head coach. But, "Braver" is not powerful enough to defeat Bahamut. Interim coach Mike McCormack would finish out the rest of the season and the Seahawks compiled a 4-5 record. At first, Cloud performs his limit break "Braver" to hit Bahamut down the ground. In the strike-shortened season of 1982, the Seahawks fired their first coach, Jack Patera, after losing their first two games. Bahamut wreaks havoc on the newly constructed Edge until Cloud joins in. In 1981, when the Seahawks lost five of their first six games on their way to a 6-10 record, Steve Largent had another stellar season with 1,224 receiving yards. Cloud nods as the boy turns to run back to the bar. However, the team rebounded from that embarrassment to finish the season with a 9-7 record. Denzel then says he'll go back to the bar too, asking Cloud if he'll return. In 1979, the Seahawks set the NFL record for the lowest total offense in one game (minus 7 yards) in a 24-0 loss to the Los Angeles Rams at the Kingdome. Cloud tells Tifa that he returned Marlene to the bar, and that the sin feels lighter, to which she smiles. In 1978, the Seahawks acheived their first winning season with a 9-7 record as WR Steve Largent finished second in the NFL with 1,168 receiving yards and Jack Patera was named NFL Coach of the Year. The members each protect them in turn, finally with the arrival of Cloud on Fenrir. The 1977 season highlight happened on October 30 when quarterback Jim Zorn came back from an injury to throw four touchdown passes in a 56-17 win over the Buffalo Bills at the Kingdome. Denzel awakens from his zombie-like state after Denzel and Tifa are knocked unconscious from one of Bahmut's blasts. On November 7 they won their first home game in a 30-13 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. A sort of nostalgic scene ensues when the other Final Fantasy VII party members (Barrett, Red XIII, Cait Sith, Yuffie, Cid, and Vincent) show up at this point to battle Ex-Bahamut, as Tifa protects the possessed Denzel. The franchise's first win came on October 17 when they beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-10 at Tampa Bay. The Turks rescue some of the possessed children from Bahamut's first blast and then proceed to engage in a fierce melee with Loz and Yazoo, though they ultimately come out on the bottom. That drought was ended with a 20-10 victory over the Washington Redskins in the 2005 playoffs. Reno and Rude appear to call out Yazoo and Loz, and to add to the confusion, Kadaj then summons Bahamut Sin. Before 2005, Seattle had the longest drought since its last playoff win of any NFL team, going back to the 1984 season. Loz and Yazoo have used the children as human shields while they search for Jenova's head in a memorial statue dedicated to Meteor's destruction of Midgar. The team set two franchise records with an 11-game winning streak and 13 regular-season wins in 2005. Kadaj has unleashed numerous Shadow Creeper monsters to attack the people, and is seen in an incomplete building with the wheelchair bound Rufus. Seattle has won four division titles in their franchise history: the 1988 and 1999 AFC West titles, and the 2004 and 2005 NFC West titles. Hand in hand with Marlene, they head back to the city. This realignment also allowed the NFL to restore the NFC East and the AFC West to their original post-merger rosters. This slightly confuses Cloud, but he says he'll give it a try and let Vincent know how it goes. In 2002, the Seahawks were returned to the NFC West as part of an NFL realignment plan that gave each conference four balanced divisions of four teams each. Vincent just replies that he had never tried. This realignment was dictated by the league as part of the 1976 expansion plan, so that both expansion teams could play each other twice and every other NFL franchise once during their first two seasons. As the flashback ends, he asks Vincent if his sin can be forgiven. After one season, Seattle switched conferences with Tampa Bay and joined the AFC West. She pauses and says, "Have we lost to our memories?" Cloud just hangs his head and says, "But...we just let her die." Aerith's voice is then heard, suggesting to Cloud that he should forgive himself instead of drifting away. The franchise began play in 1976 in the NFC West division. Tifa has obviously had it with Cloud, and lectures him, speaking her thoughts about how he is pained by past failures, and how he always wants to be alone. The Seahawks are the only NFL team to switch conferences twice in the post-merger era. Hesitating, Cloud decides instead to go talk to Rufus. The Seahawks were defeated by the Los Angeles Raiders in the 1983 AFC championship game. Rude tells them that the children have been taken to Ajit. Seattle is the only NFL team to play in both the AFC and NFC championship games. It is here Cloud has a another flashback of what happened prior to arriving to the Forgotten Capital. . After having a discussion about their current situation, Marlene comes and yells at Cloud when he says he wants to back down from fighting again. The Seahawks have one Super Bowl appearance. Vincent says he had also saved Tseng and Elena by nursing them back to health after they had been tortured by Kadaj's gang. The team, along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, joined the NFL in 1976 as expansion teams. This leads to a battle, in which Cloud is defeated by the three, but saved by Vincent Valentine. They currently belong to the Western Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). During the battle of one VS three, Cloud performs his limit break "Blade Beam" against the "Quake" magic attack from Loz. The Seattle Seahawks are a professional American football team based in Seattle, Washington. Kadaj begins calling him a "traitor" and is about to execute him when Marlene calls out Cloud's name, distracting Kadaj and allowing Cloud to grab his sword. National Football League (1976-present). On his way, riding on his motorcycle Fenrir, Cloud has a vision of Aerith, standing back-to-back with him in a field of flowers. Dennis Erickson: 1995 - 98. Reno and Rude return, telling Cloud and Tifa that Kadaj has taken the children to The Forgotten City of Ajit. Tom Flores: 1992 - 94. Cloud does not answer, which clearly frustrates Tifa. Chuck Knox: 1983 - 91. She confronts him about his Geostigma, asking him if he wants to die alone. Mike McCormack: 1982 (replaced Patera after two games). As it gets late, Tifa wakes up, finding Cloud staring out the window. Jack Patera: 1976 - 82. They do, entering a trance-like state, the pupils of their eyes becoming narrow slits like those of Kadaj. Dan McGwire. He takes a drink and tells the children to follow suit. Fredd Young. He then walks into the very lake where Aerith was laid to rest two years prior, and as he does so, corrupts it, turning it black. Charle Young. They take the children to the Forgotten Capital, Ajit, where Kadaj tries to persuade them that the planet is inflicting this disease upon them and that they should rally together against the planet. Loz arrives at the church, attacking Tifa while searching for the location of Jenova. Eugene Robinson. It is here they discover that Cloud has Geostigma and does not have the will to fight it. Jerry Rice. Tifa and Marlene go looking for Cloud at the church where Aerith spent time and grew her flowers, and where Cloud has apparently been living. John Randle. Vincent Valentine suspects that the trio is seeking to obtain the remains of Jenova to create another Sephiroth, and suggests that Geostigma is the result of Lifestream inside one's body battling the Jenova cells within it. Rufus Porter. He somewhat knows Cloud, referring to him as "brother" and "traitor," most likely due to the fact that, though they are both "bound" by Jenova and Geostigma, Cloud is trying to stop Kadaj and his crew rather than embrace their efforts to further the virus. Joe Nash. The leader of the trio, Kadaj, claims that Geostigma is due to the Jenova cells corrupting the Lifestream. Warren Moon. Three unknown figures appear and begin searching for Jenova's remains to complete the Reunion. Cortez Kennedy.
