Though she suffered from anorexia earlier in her life, she died of cancer. She was offered the role of Maid Marian in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, but had to turn it down because she was pregnant. She was born in Norwood, Ohio, and became best known for her roles in Hollywood musicals such as White Christmas and On the Town. They have a son and a daughter. She was born Robin Virginia Gayle Wright in Dallas, Texas.
