Tone-Loc

Tone-Loc is an American rapper and actor. His tracks "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina" were immensely succesful - in fact, "Wild Thing", which was co-written by Young MC, was the first top ten hit for a black rapper according to allmusic.com. Additionally, Tone-Loc made a cameo appearance in the 1980's film Ford Fairlane with Andrew Dice Clay.

Tone-Loc grew up in Santa Monica, California.

Both his albums were re-issued by Rhino Records.

Both his albums were re-issued by Rhino Records. Their most recent release is 2001's Underneath. Tone-Loc grew up in Santa Monica, California. They came back with a new album, The Verve Pipe, in 1999. Additionally, Tone-Loc made a cameo appearance in the 1980's film Ford Fairlane with Andrew Dice Clay. Their first major label release was 1996's Villains, which was a minor hit and launched two respectably-selling singles, first "Photograph" then the #1 hit "The Freshman". His tracks "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina" were immensely succesful - in fact, "Wild Thing", which was co-written by Young MC, was the first top ten hit for a black rapper according to allmusic.com. They gained a devoted following in their native state of Michigan, signing to RCA Records in 1995.
