Although Moore has worked steadily for the past few decades, her appearances have been in usually minor roles in mostly forgettable films. She publicly condemned the use of alcohol and cigarettes, and suggested that marriage killed all romance. Although she could offer no definitive proof of her allegation, Hughes's estate paid her a settlement in 1984. She was especially well known for her laidback and honest style. Long romantically involved with billionaire Howard Hughes, Moore claimed after his death that they had secretly married in 1949 and never divorced. Her children are Georgia (from the first marriage), Dinah, Charles and Christopher (from the third marriage). Although cast in mostly B-pictures, she managed to make her mark in several box office hits, including Mighty Joe Young (1940), Come Back, Little Sheba (1952) - for which she was nominated for an Academy Award - and Peyton Place (1957). Married three times, she took her third husband's name and was known as Suzy Parker Dillman after she retired from celebrity life.

Throughout the decade, she worked under a variety of names before settling on Terry Moore in 1948. Her other acting credits included Kiss Them for Me, Ten North Frederick and appearances in the TV series Tarzan and The Twilight Zone. Moore worked as a child model before making her film debut in Maryland (1940). Her acting debut was in the 1957 film Funny Face with Fred Astaire and Audrey Hepburn. She was born Helen Luella Koford on January 7, 1929 in Los Angeles. She is often called the 'original supermodel'. Terry Moore is an American actress. She was a successful model during the 1950s and was the 'signature face' for Coco Chanel during much of that period. Dorian introduced her to Eileen Ford, a famous modelling agent, at the age of 15. The sister of model Dorian Leigh, she grew up and attended school in Highland Park, New Jersey. She died on May 3, 2003 in Montecito, California at the age of 69.
