Ted Knight

Ted Knight has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contributions to Television, at 6671 Hollywood Boulevard. Further, she made guest appearances in the long running series ER in 2004. He died from cancer and was interred in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Amick's return to network TV came in the fall of 1995, in the much-publicized CBS dramatic series Central Park West. After the show concluded, Knight appeared in the film Caddyshack (1980), and played the lead role in the series Too Close For Comfort from 1980. A highlight of Amick's film career is the 1994 feature film Dream Lover, a thriller in which she co-starred with James Spader. He received six Emmy Award nominations for the role, winning the Emmy Award for "Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Comedy", in 1973 and 1976. She got her first break when director David Lynch chose her to play waitress Shelly Johnson on the TV series Twin Peaks, and viewers of that cult hit soon come to love Amick's sensually innocent character, who endured terrible abuse at the hands of her husband, Leo.

His role as the vain and untalented newscaster, Ted Baxter, in The Mary Tyler Moore Show brought Knight widespread recognition, and his greatest success. Her first name, which can be spelled in English Madchen or rather Maedchen, means "girl" or "young woman" in German. His film career failed to take off, however his distinctive speaking voice brought him work as an announcer, and he worked frequently in such television series as Bonanza and Get Smart. She is German,Norwegian, and Swedish descent. Born Tadeus Wladyslaw Konopka in Terryville, Connecticut, Knight made one of his earliest screen appearances in an uncredited role as a guard in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960). Mädchen Amick is an actress, born in Reno, Nevada on December 12, 1970. Ted Knight (December 7, 1923–August 26, 1986) was an American actor.
