Starland Vocal Band

Each of the band members has gone on to solo careers. John Tesh is very tall, standing around 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m). Danoff and Nivert divorced shortly afterwards. John Tesh's most memorable piece as a musician is arguably the instrumential theme music (AKA Round Ball Rock) for NBC's coverage of the NBA from 1990-2002. The band broke up by 1980, unable to match their previous success (see 1980 in music). He has a radio show called Intelligence for your Life, with 80's, 90's and today's soft rock music. David Letterman, then unknown, also participated in the show. He has been married since 1992 to actress Connie Sellecca.

The band hosted a variety show titled "Starland Vocal Band" that ran on CBS for two months. He hosted the television news magazine show Entertainment Tonight from 1986 to 1996. The follow-up, Rear View Mirror was a failure in comparison. Tesh studied communications at North Carolina State University but was kicked out for cheating. They won two and were nominated for five Grammy Awards. He was born on Long Island, New York. The song was a hit, and the album topped the charts too. John Tesh (born July 9, 1952) is an American new age / contemporary Christian musician.

Their debut was Starland Vocal Band, which included "Afternoon Delight". They recorded several albums before making a group called the Starland Vocal Band. The latter song is the de facto state song of West Virginia, although it has no official status as such. Nivert and Danoff wrote "I Guess He'd Rather Be in Colorado" and "Take Me Home, Country Roads", both big hits for John Denver.

The group began as Fat City, a husband/wife duo of Bill Danoff and Taffy Nivert. Starland Vocal Band is an American rock band, known primarily for "Afternoon Delight", one of the biggest singles in 1976 (see 1976 in music).
