Sonya Smith (born May 25, 1971) is the stage name of Sonya Eleonora Smith Jacket, a half-Venezuelan, half-American actress who is a star on the Venevision television channel.

Born in Philadelphia, Smith grew up in Venezuela, which is the reason why she speaks Spanish perfectly. As a young girl, she identified deeply with Venezuela's Latin American culture.

Her breakthrough came in the early 1990s, as "Estrellita Montenegro" in Cara Sucia, a Spanish soap opera that was viewed by millions across Latin America, in the United States and Europe. During the filming of another soap opera, Milagros, she met actor Paul Martin, whom she allegedly dated.

Smith remains a popular actress in Venezuela.
