Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan (born November 2, 1965, New Delhi, India) is a Bollywood Indian actor.

He has won five of the popular Filmfare awards for Best Actor. Most recently he won the award in 2002 for his strong portrayal of a drunk lover in the remake of the tragic movie Devdas. He has also won three Filmfare Critics Awards (one for one of his better movies Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa 1993, one for the huge hit "Mohabattein" and one best villain award for an obsessive lover in Anjaam). He also has received many awards for his contribition to cinema, making him the recipient of 11 Filmfare awards, the most ever won by anyone acting in just one Indian language.

Born into a Muslim family of Pathan orign in Delhi, Shahrukh Khan earned a Masters in Mass Communication from Jamia Milia Islamia, Delhi. He first entered the limelight with his role as 'Abhimanyu' in the tele-serial Fauji (Soldier). He shot to stardom in his two successive roles as a paranoid lover in Baazigar (1992) and Darr (1993). He followed these roles with a string of successful love stories.

His association with Karan Johar and Yash Chopra has resulted in one successful movie after the other. His movies for Yash Chopra include Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kal Ho Na Ho

All of the five movies in which he co-starred with actress Kajol were box office hits - however Kajol announced her retirement from movies after Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

Shahrukh also owns a production house called Dreamz Unlimited along with actress Juhi Chawla and film director Aziz Mirza.
