The couple made a surprise impromptu reunion performance in the 1980s on NBC's Late Night with David Letterman where they performed their hit song "I Got You Babe". On January 4, 2005 Seal announced his engagement to German supermodel Heidi Klum. The marriage and the musical duo ended in 1974 when Bono and Cher were divorced.

The first single released of the 2003 album was called "Get It Together". Their on-stage banter added to their audience appeal, with Sonny's eagerness and Cher's putdowns. He has released three self-titled albums in 1991, 1994 and 2003. The couple hosted a number of television series and specials, including The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour, which ran from 1971 to 1974, and The Sonny & Cher Show in 1976. In 1996 he covered the Steve Miller Band's "Fly Like an Eagle" for the Space Jam soundtrack. The song made a bit of a comeback when it was heavily featured as Bill Murray's wake-up call in the 1993 movie Groundhog Day. Featured vocalist on the Adamski single, "Killer", which was a UK number one hit in 1990 (he signed a contract to Sire Records), he subsequently had solo hits such as "Crazy", "Prayer for the Dying", and "Kiss from a Rose" in 1995, which appeared in the film Batman Forever. Drumming on it, as he did on so many of the hits of that era, was master session drummer Hal Blaine.

After school, he studied architecture and engineering. Sonny and Cher's biggest hit, I Got You Babe hit the #1 spot in July 1965. A childhood bout of lupus left him with distinctive facial scarring. They were the first hippies with mainstream appeal, although Bono's hippiedom may have been for promotional purposes only.
