Robert Reed (October 19, 1932 - May 12, 1992) was an American actor.

Born in Highland Park, Illinois, Reed studied Shakespeare and was not a comic actor. After winning the role of Mike Brady on The Brady Bunch, he became unhappy with his part. He wanted out of the show but was under contract. He was happy when the show ended, but he did return for the Brady Bunch Variety Hour and the two made-for-TV movies that reunited the Brady cast.

Reed died from cancer in Pasadena, California at the age of only 59. However, he was also HIV-positive which, according to his death certificate, was a contributing factor to Reed's death. Like many gay actors of his generation, Reed never publicly revealed his homosexuality during his lifetime and was reportedly very conflicted about being gay. He worked in a Bollywood adaption of Shakespeare's Macbeth, titled Maqbool. However, he was also HIV-positive which, according to his death certificate, was a contributing factor to Reed's death. He also played Captain Nemo in the 2003 film The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Reed died from cancer in Pasadena, California at the age of only 59. Shah was recently seen in Teen Diwarein and Mira Nair's Monsoon Wedding. He was happy when the show ended, but he did return for the Brady Bunch Variety Hour and the two made-for-TV movies that reunited the Brady cast. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2003.

Besides these serious roles, he has a penchant for comedy. Naseeruddin Shah has also acted for other New Indian Cinema directors including Mrinal Sen (Khandan, 1983) and Sai Paranjpye (Sparsh, 1979). The film is set in a Catholic setting, primarily because Mirza did not have the courage to tackle Muslim issues.

In the movie, he plays a garage mechanic from Goa who dreams of the expensive cars that he repairs but that are far beyond his reach. One of his most intense performances was given in Saeed Mirza's Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Aata Hai (What makes Albert Pinto angry?, 1980). He acted in Benegal's Nishant (1975), Manthan and Bhumika (1976). Like many of the other actors of his genre, Naseeruddin Shah was first noticed by Shyam Benegal.
