Richard Roundtree

Richard Roundtree (born July 9, 1942 New York ) tall African American actor famous for being John Shaft in Shaft (1971) and in its two sequels.

He was a leading man during the early 1970s in the Blaxploitation films appearing in Shaft and its sequels as John Shaft. Prior to becoming an actor, he was a model.

He had never stopped working as an actor since the 70s although his films were not high profile, recently however it seemed he was making a comeback as a cult icon.
