Richard Crenna

Crenna's son Richard Anthony Crenna is also an actor. It is called Kirk Douglas Way. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6714 Hollywood Blvd. In October 2004, Douglas had a Palm Springs, California street named after him by the Palm Springs International Film Society and International Film Festival. Suffering from pancreatic cancer, Crenna died of heart failure in Los Angeles, California at the age of 75. Douglas did not win any competitive Oscars, but received a special Oscar in 1996 for "50 years as a moral and creative force in the motion picture community.". Crenna had a long career in films, appearing in such movies as The Sand Pebbles, Wait Until Dark, Body Heat, First Blood (and its following Rambo sequels), Hot Shots! Part Deux and The Flamingo Kid. Douglas received three Academy Award nominations for his work in Champion, The Bad and the Beautiful, and Lust for Life.

He remained with the cast of the latter show when it transitioned to television. When Our Miss Brooks was canceled, he moved to another television program, The Real McCoys. Popular at home and around the world, Kirk Douglas received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1981 and the French Legion of Honor in 1985. Born in Los Angeles, California, Crenna got his acting start on radio, appearing in Boy Scout Jamboree, Date With Judy and Our Miss Brooks. His son, Michael Douglas, is also an actor.
