Redman

Method Man and Redman briefly had their own television sitcom, Method & Red, on Fox during the 2004 - 2005 season. After Bagdasarian's death in 1972 from a heart attack at the age of 52, his son, Ross Bagdasarian, Jr., continued to release Chipmunks recordings and has taken over the voices for the Chipmunk characters in subsequent iterations of the cartoon. In 2000, Redman provided guest vocals on The Offspring's album "Original Prankster." The following year, he costarred with Method Man in the film How High, and also contributed music to the soundtrack. He also provided the voice for the David Seville character in the Chipmunks' 1961 animated television series, The Alvin Show. In addition, he has also collaborated with rapper Keith Murray and producer Eric Sermon (EPMD) for the 1998 album El Nino, and with rapper Method Man (Wu-Tang Clan) for the 1999 album Blackout!. He also had bit parts in The Deep Six (1957), The Devil's Hairpin (1957), The Proud and Profane (1956), Three Violent People (1956), Hot Blood (1956), Alaska Seas (1954), Destination Gobi (1953), Stalag 17 (1953), Viva Zapata! (1952), and The Greatest Show on Earth (1952). Redman's solo career continued throughout the remainder of the decade, with each of his albums selling at least half a million copies. Bagdasarian also appeared in minor film parts, including Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window, in which he plays an obsessed piano-playing songwriter.

In 1993, prominent hip-hop magazine The Source named Redman Rap Artist of the Year. This success led to his recording of "The Christmas Song" with the Chipmunks. Redman made his rapping debut on the EPMD songs "Hardcore" and "Brothers on my Jock". Redman's 1992 Def Jam debut Whut? Thee Album broke into the US Top 50, and has since achieved gold status in the United States. As David Seville, he had another number-one record in his song, "The Witch Doctor", which was also his first experiment with the technique of speeding up the playback of an audio track to get the most-distinctive higher pitched squeaky comedy sound. Redman (born Reggie Noble on April 17, 1970 in Newark, New Jersey) is an African American rapper who became popular in as an artist on the Def Jam label in the 1990s. His first musical success was Rosemary Clooney's "Come On-a My House", which he wrote with his cousin, novelist William Saroyan. 2004: Method & Red. During his professional life he was better known by the stage name David Seville, which he used on his recordings featuring Alvin and the Chipmunks.
