He married actress Cathy Trien on October 12, 1998 and the couple has two children. His children are also performers, the most famous being his daughter Marlo. They divorced in 1996. Scolari's boyhood dream was to be a professional baseball player but he seriously injured his elbow and was unable to play. His first acting role was in his high school production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
