Parker Posey

Parker Posey (born November 8, 1968) is an American actress best known for her many appearances in independent films.

She was born in Laurel, Mississippi and named by her father after the 1950s supermodel Suzy Parker. She and her twin brother, Chris, were raised in Mississippi and Louisiana. She attended Purchase College where she roomed with fellow actress Sherry Stringfield and, like Stringfield, her first role was on a soap opera; in Posey's case, it was on As the World Turns.

Her first lead role was in Party Girl (1995). She has appeared in three of Christopher Guest's mock documentaries: Waiting for Guffman (1996), Best in Show (2000), and A Mighty Wind (2003).

Her big budget movie studio films include Scream 3 (2000), You've Got Mail (1998), Josie and the Pussycats (2001), and Blade: Trinity (2004).
