She has stated that her amazing bibliography is partly due to the fact that she consistently writes eight hours per day, even when on vacation. She married longtime boyfriend Mario Lopez in 2004, and two weeks after marriage, filed for divorce. Roberts is famously prolific, with as many as seven new novels released in a year; within the community of romance authors she is sometimes jokingly called "The Nora". Starting in 2003 she played in the UPN sitcom Eve. The initials "J.D." were taken her sons, Jason and Dan, while "Robb" is a shortened form of Roberts. An avid athlete, she participated in the Boston Marathon. They feature NYPSD Detective Eve Dallas and her husband Roarke and are set in a mid-21st century New York City. She has participated in the show Fear Factor, and was runner up.
