Naomi Campbell

Campbell co-authored the best-selling novel Swan and followed it up with a photo book titled Naomi. Dolores Costello is the grandmother of actress Drew Barrymore. She is also a successful singer; her album Baby Woman sold over 1 million copies worldwide (mostly in Japan), and she was featured on Vanilla Ice's single "Cool as Ice." She had previously appeared in George Michael's music video, Freedom '90, though she merely lip-synched to his song along with other models rather than performing herself. Dolores Costello has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her contributions to Motion Pictures, at 1645 Vine Street. She is reputed to have a quick temper. Her interview scenes were broadcast posthumously in 1980. She also posed nude for Playboy magazine and for a series of lesbian-erotic photos with Madonna in her book Sex. She died from emphysema in Fallbrook, California in 1979.

She has been a prominent fashion model on the runway and in print advertising since the late 1980s. Shortly before her death, she agreed to be interviewed for the documentary series Hollywood discussing her film career. Born in Streatham, South London, Campbell studied at the London Academy For Performing Arts. She retired in 1943. Naomi Campbell (born May 22, 1970) is an English supermodel and actress. Costello spoke with a lisp, and found it difficult to make the transition to talking pictures, but after two years of voice coaching she was comfortable speaking before a microphone. In 1926 she starred along with John Barrymore in The Sea Beast and after a two year affair, the couple married in 1928. By the mid twenties, she had become a successful and highly regarded film personality in her own right, and as a young adult her career developed to the degree that in 1926 she was named a WAMPAS Baby Star, and had acquired the name "The Goddess of the Silver Screen". The two sisters appeared on Broadway together and their success resulted in contracts with Warner Brothers Studios.

She made her first film appearances, along with her sister Helene, as a child in her father's films. Costello was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of actors Maurice and Mae Costello. Dolores Costello (September 17, 1903 - March 1, 1979) was an American film actress who achieved her greatest success during the era of silent movies.
