This page will contain images about NSYNC, as they become available.*NSYNC(Redirected from NSYNC)*NSYNC is a five-part pop music vocal group, specifically a boy band, formed in Orlando, Florida, USA. The group members are James Lance Bass, Joshua Scott Chasez (JC), Joseph Anthony Fatone Junior (Joey), Christopher Alan Kirkpatrick (Chris), and Justin Randall Timberlake. HistoryThe group formed in 1995 under the funding of Lou Pearlman, who hired Johnny Wright (former manager of New Kids On The Block ) to be their tour manager. Lance Bass, who coincidentally sang bass, was not originally part of the group. The bass part was sung by Jason Watkins, who left the group early on because he did not like the type of music *NSYNC was performing. The logic behind the name *NSYNC came from Justin's mother, Lynn Harless. It was created from the last letter of each member's name: Justin, Chris, Joey, Jason, and JC. After Lance joined, the group claimed to call him "Lansten" so his name would fit in the *NSYNC acronym. Shortly after their breakthrough, *NSYNC fought a court battle against their manager citing mismanagement. *NSYNC left Pearlman to be managed by Johnny Wright of Wright Entertainment Group. Their defining album, No Strings Attached, released shortly thereafter, proved that the boys were back in business. The group produces a blend of pop, dance, and R&B that they call "dirty pop". No Strings Attached was the first album to feature this type of music; they gave the style a name with their latest album Celebrity. Their debut album, released by BMG, did well in Europe and the US as did the seasonal Home For Christmas. After moving from BMG to Jive Records, home of rival boy band Backstreet Boys, No Strings Attached, released in March 2000, sold 2.4 million copies in its first week of release—the highest record sales in music history (1.1 million of which was attributed to the first day of release). Their fourth album, Celebrity comes in at number two, with 1.8 million records sold in its first week. Their albums have been boosted by a number of successful single releases, including "Tearin' Up My Heart" from *NSYNC, "Music Of My Heart" recorded with Gloria Estefan for the movie Music of the Heart, "Bye Bye Bye", "It's Gonna Be Me" and "This I Promise You" from No Strings Attached. Recent hits such as "Gone" and "Girlfriend" have expanded the group's influence and fan base into the hip-hop crowd as well. The group went on hiatus in 2002, as two of its members released solo albums -- Justin Timberlake released Justified on November 4, 2002 and JC Chasez released his solo album, Schizophrenic, on February 24, 2004. Chris closed his clothing business, Fuman Skeeto. Lance abandoned his plans to be the first celebrity in space. Joey is acting in movies (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and on Broadway (Rent). Plans to work on their fifth album are being discussed, however details are uncertain. Rumors have circulated that Justin Timberlake quit the group, thus, disbanding NSYNC. Discography

Rumors have circulated that Justin Timberlake quit the group, thus, disbanding NSYNC. Phair continued to flirt with sexually explicit themes, however, as was most evident in a track called "H.W.C.", which stood for "Hot White Cum". Plans to work on their fifth album are being discussed, however details are uncertain. The debut single "Why Can't I?", co-written by music production team The Matrix, became a major hit in the North America, and its follow-up, "Extraordinary", was also somewhat successful and appeared on the soundtrack to the 2004 movie Raising Helen. Joey is acting in movies (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and on Broadway (Rent). Despite some negative reviews, especially from the independent music press who considered Phair to have sold out by making the record very pop-oriented, Liz Phair was commercially successful and seemed to propel Phair out of the "alternative-chick" category and straight onto the pop charts. Lance abandoned his plans to be the first celebrity in space. In 2003, her self-titled fourth album was released. Chris closed his clothing business, Fuman Skeeto. Whitechocolatespaceegg was finally released in 1998. The group went on hiatus in 2002, as two of its members released solo albums -- Justin Timberlake released Justified on November 4, 2002 and JC Chasez released his solo album, Schizophrenic, on February 24, 2004. She worked on her third album for a long time, delayed by the birth of a child, James Nicholas Staskauskas, on December 21, 1996. Recent hits such as "Gone" and "Girlfriend" have expanded the group's influence and fan base into the hip-hop crowd as well. In 1995, Phair married Jim Staskauskas (whom she later divorced), a film editor who had worked on her videos, and then released Juvenilia, an EP that included Girlysound material. In spite of this, the album received mixed reviews and did not sell well. Their fourth album, Celebrity comes in at number two, with 1.8 million records sold in its first week. Whip-Smart debuted at #27 in 1994 and "Supernova", the first single, became a Top Ten modern rock hit. After moving from BMG to Jive Records, home of rival boy band Backstreet Boys, No Strings Attached, released in March 2000, sold 2.4 million copies in its first week of release—the highest record sales in music history (1.1 million of which was attributed to the first day of release). Phair's second album received much media attention and an advertising blitz. Their debut album, released by BMG, did well in Europe and the US as did the seasonal Home For Christmas. The album established Phair's penchant for exploring sexually explicit lyrics such as in the song "Flower": "I want to be your blow job queen/...I'll fuck you and your minions too.". No Strings Attached was the first album to feature this type of music; they gave the style a name with their latest album Celebrity. The critical success of her debut album meant Phair soon attracted naysayers in the indie rock scene, notably including Steve Albini, but her fanbase continued to grow. The group produces a blend of pop, dance, and R&B that they call "dirty pop". The album attracted some attention because it was structured as a response to the classic Rolling Stones album, Exile on Main Street. Their defining album, No Strings Attached, released shortly thereafter, proved that the boys were back in business. Phair's debut album, Exile in Guyville, was released in 1993 and received uniformly excellent reviews. *NSYNC left Pearlman to be managed by Johnny Wright of Wright Entertainment Group. Meanwhile, Brokaw gave several Girlysound tapes to the head of Matador Records, Gerard Cosley, leading to a contract. Shortly after their breakthrough, *NSYNC fought a court battle against their manager citing mismanagement. An attempt at recording the Girlysound tapes failed due to arguments between Henderson and Phair. After Lance joined, the group claimed to call him "Lansten" so his name would fit in the *NSYNC acronym. Soon, she was a part of the alternative music scene in Chicago and became friends with Urge Overkill, a popular band, as well as Brad Wood and John Henderson, head of Feel Good All Over, an independent label in Chicago. It was created from the last letter of each member's name: Justin, Chris, Joey, Jason, and JC. After moving back to Chicago, Phair began writing songs and releasing homemade tapes under the name Girlysound, supporting herself by selling her drawings on the streets of Chicago. The logic behind the name *NSYNC came from Justin's mother, Lynn Harless. After studying art history at Oberlin College in Ohio, Phair met guitarist Chris Brokaw (late of Come) and the pair moved to San Francisco for a brief period. The bass part was sung by Jason Watkins, who left the group early on because he did not like the type of music *NSYNC was performing. Phair was born in New Haven, Connecticut, but was raised in a suburb of Chicago by her wealthy adoptive parents. Lance Bass, who coincidentally sang bass, was not
originally part of the group. She emerged from Chicago with her debut album, Exile in Guyville, and became a critical darling.
