Michelle Trachtenberg

Michelle Christine Trachtenberg (born October 11, 1985 in New York, United States) is an American television and movie actress best known for her role as Dawn Summers in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Born in New York City, she had her first television appearance in 1988 in a commercial for Wisk Detergent. She went on to feature in over 100 more commercials. Her first credited role came in 1993. She played Nona Mecklenberg in The Adventures of Pete & Pete from 1994 until 1996. During the same period she played the second Lily Montgomery in All My Children. It was on All My Children that Trachtenberg first worked with future Buffy co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Trachtenberg's film career began in 1996 with the lead role in Harriet the Spy. She then returned to television for Meego, for which she won a Young Artist Award. She returned to film in 1999 for Inspector Gadget and Can't Be Heaven. In 2000 she made Snow Day.

In Summer 2000 Trachtenberg took up the role of Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She remained in the role until the show's cancellation in 2003. Since Buffy she has returned to film, with the recent Eurotrip, co-starring Scott Mechlowicz and Travis Wester and directed by Jeff Schaffer.

Since Buffy she has returned to film, with the recent Eurotrip, co-starring Scott Mechlowicz and Travis Wester and directed by Jeff Schaffer. She died in Los Angeles, California from a stroke. She remained in the role until the show's cancellation in 2003. She made her final film appearance in Flamingo Road (1949). In Summer 2000 Trachtenberg took up the role of Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Although she married one of these men, her reputation was tarnished and she appeared only in supporting roles after this.

In 2000 she made Snow Day. With the advent of talking pictures, White began to attract a level of popularity she had not achieved in silent movies, but her career was severely damaged by a scandal with two men she was sexually involved with. She returned to film in 1999 for Inspector Gadget and Can't Be Heaven. After playing a succession of flappers and gold diggers, she attracted the attention of the director Mervyn Leroy who saw potential in her. She then returned to television for Meego, for which she won a Young Artist Award. Her bubbly and vivacious persona led to comparisons with Clara Bow, but White's career was slow to progress. Trachtenberg's film career began in 1996 with the lead role in Harriet the Spy. Born Alva White in Paterson, New Jersey, White attended Hollywood High School along with future actors Joel McCrea and Mary Brian and after leaving school became a secretary and "script girl" for director Joseph Von Sternberg. After clashing with Von Sternberg, White left his employment to work for Charlie Chaplin who decided before long to place her in front of the cameras.
