Michael Keaton

Keaton is known for his work in films such as Batman, Beetlejuice, and Multiplicity. Lukas has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6841 Hollywood Blvd. He picked "Keaton" after Buster Keaton, the silent-film star. The remainder of his career moved from Hollywood to the stage to television. He died in Tangier, Morocco. So he couldn't use Mike Douglas or Michael Douglas (the son of Kirk Douglas). He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for the role. Keaton's real name is Michael John Douglas, but he could not use his real last name professionally because the actors' union doesn't allow two people to use the same name. He was very busy in the 1930s, but his major role came in 1943's Watch on the Rhine, when he played a man blackmailed to work for the Nazis (he had played the same role on Broadway).

Keaton was born in an Irish Catholic family of 7 kids. Born Lukács Pál in Budapest, he arrived in Hollywood in 1927 after a successful stage career in Hungary and Austria.
