Michael Chiklis is an American stage and television actor.

He is best known for starring in two popular, but highly different, television series: The Commish (1991-1995) and The Shield (2002-). Chiklis began his career on the stage and portrayed tragic comic John Belushi in the controverisal 1989 film Wired. Although The Shield has been controversial because of its violent content, Chiklis's acting has been highly praised and he has won several awards for portraying Detective Vic Mackey.

Cruise teamed with producer Paula Wagner to form Cruise/Wagner Productions, which has co-produced several of Cruise's films such as Mission: Impossible and its sequels, Vanilla Sky (2001), and The Last Samurai (2003).
