Martha Scott

Scott has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, next to the Fonda Theatre. She lives in Beverly Hills, California. Her last production was a performance of Twelve Angry Men, which was performed at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Hollywood. Stone is a member of Mensa International. Scott co-producer of both versions. They have an adopted son born in 2000. The company produced such fare as First Monday in October, both on stage and in film. Stone and Bronstein got a divorce in January 2004.

She never again achieved such acclaim, although she appeared in such films as The Howards of Virginia, The Desperate Hours, The Ten Commandments, Sayonara, Ben-Hur, Airport 1975 and The Turning Point. In both The Ten Commandments and Ben-Hur, she played Charlton Heston's mother. In October 1997, she was ranked among the top 100 movie stars of all time by Empire magazine. Her film debut in Our Town in 1940 saw her receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. In 1996, she received an Academy Award for Best Actress nomination for her role as Ginger in Martin Scorsese's Casino (1995), a role for which she won a Golden Globe award.

Scott eventually went to New York City, where she was cast as the original Emily in the Broadway production of Our Town. In 1995, Empire magazine chose her as one of the 100 sexiest stars in film history. She got her start acting in shortened Shakespeare productions at the Century of Progress world's fair in Chicago, Illinois in 1933 - 1934. In that year, she was rated by People magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world. Born in Jamesport, Missouri, she became interested in acting in high school, and earned a degree from the University of Michigan before pursuing her acting dream. She subsequently posed nude for Playboy at the age of 32. Her role in the sexually-charged Basic Instinct (1992) brought her to greater notoriety, and the film became a popular cult movie. Martha Scott (September 22, 1912 - May 28, 2003) was an American actress. Her appearance in Total Recall (1990) with Arnold Schwarzenegger gave her her first wide exposure.

In the 1980s she played many parts in B-movies such as King Solomon's Mines (1985) and Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold (1987). She married Michael Greenburg in 1984, a marriage which lasted just 3 years. She made her film debut in Woody Allen's Stardust Memories (1980) and had a speaking part a year later in the horror movie Deadly Blessing (1981). In 1975, she won the Miss Pennsylvania beauty pageant.
