Marina Golbahari

Golbahari bought her parents a home with the money she earned from Osama. Today, she is the spokeswoman for Polident denture cleanser (although she does not wear dentures herself). The movie went on to earn a Golden Globe award as best foreign film, and Golbahari's job in it was well received by many critics, including Richard Nilsen, who stated that there is no shortcoming in the acting of Marina Golbahari. She was also the spokeswoman for Wesson cooking oil, from 1976 to 1996. She was working on the streets of Kabul as a beggar, asking passers-by for money when she was casually discovered by famed Afghan director Sadiq Barmak, who cast her as Osama. She starred on Broadway in Wish You Were Here (1952), Fanny (1954), and The Girl Who Came to Supper (1963). She gained international fame with her role as the title character in the 2003 film Osama, playing a girl who had to dress and act as a boy to support her family during the Taliban years. Henderson started out on the stage, performing in musicals, such as the touring production of Oklahoma! and South Pacific at Lincoln Center.
