She gained international fame with her role as the title character in the 2003 film Osama, playing a girl who had to dress and act as a boy to support her family during the Taliban years. She was working on the streets of Kabul as a beggar, asking passers-by for money when she was casually discovered by famed Afghan director Sadiq Barmak, who cast her as Osama. The movie went on to earn a Golden Globe award as best foreign film, and Golbahari's job in it was well received by many critics, including Richard Nilsen, who stated that there is no shortcoming in the acting of Marina Golbahari. She then went on to an extensive film career, retiring in 1958. Osama (2003, film, as Osama, a girl dressed as a boy). She is credited with being the first to adopt the short skirt costume in figure skating, and the first to make use of dance choreography. She also won six consecutive European championships. She won her first of ten consecutive World Figure Skating Championships in 1927 at the age of fifteen, and her first Olympic gold medal the following year. By the next Olympiad, she no longer needed to ask. She had earlier placed eighth in a field of eight at the 1924 Winter Olympics, at the age of eleven. During the 1924 program, she skated over to the side of the rink several times to ask her coach what to do next. Born in Oslo, Henie took the gold medal in the 1928, 1932 and 1936 Winter Olympics.
