Marcello Vincenzo Domenico Mastroianni (September 28, 1924 – December 19, 1996) was an Italian film actor.

Born in Fontana Liri, a small village in the Apennines, Mastroianni grew up in Turin and Rome. During World War II he was interned in a Nazi prison, but he escaped and hid in Venice.

In 1945 he started working for a film company, and began taking acting lessons. His film debut was in I Miserabili (from Victor Hugo's Les Misérables) in 1947.

He soon became a major international romantic star, starring in Big Deal on Madonna Street; and especially when Federico Fellini cast him in La Dolce Vita with Anita Ekberg in 1960.

He followed that with another signature role, that of a frustrated, womanizing film director in Fellini's .

Mastroianni was married to the Italian actress Flora Carabella (1926-1999), who appeared in many films including "Lunatics and Lovers" and "A Night Full of Rain", from 1948 until his death; they had one child, Barbara. He also had a daughter, Chiara Mastroianni, with his longtime mistress, the actress Catherine Deneuve; both were at his bedside when he died of pancreatic cancer.

In 1984, Norris starred in Missing in Action, the first of a series of POW rescue fantasies produced by Israeli cousins Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus and released under their Cannon Films banner. 1978 - Best Actor - A Special Day. Norris' first starring role was 1977's Breaker, Breaker!, and subsequent films such as The Octagon, An Eye for an Eye, and Lone Wolf McQuade proved his increasing box office bankability. 1988 - Best Actor - Dark Eyes. Harris taught Norris how to speak by putting his fingers in Norris's mouth, and stretching his mouth wide open. While at acting classes his voice and drama coach was Jonathan Harris, of Lost In Space fame. In 1972, he acted alongside Lee in the movie Way of the Dragon, and in 1974, McQueen encouraged him to begin acting classes at the MGM Studio. It was also in 1968 that Norris made his acting debut, in the Dean Martin movie The Wrecking Crew.

In 1968, Norris was Karate's world Middleweight champion, and in 1969, he won Karate's triple crown for the most tournament wins of the year, and the fighter of the year award by Black Belt magazine. Impressed with Norris' ability, Lee began to persuade Norris to try an acting career. But another important moment happened in 1964: at a demonstration in Long Beach, Norris met Bruce Lee. A daughter, Dina followed in 1964, and a second son, Eric, in 1965.

Norris returned to the United States in 1962, working for the Northrop corporation and opening a karate school, which many celebrities, including fellow Marine Steve McQueen attended. In 1963, his son Mike was born. He is also founder of The United Fighting Arts Federation (UFAF). Norris has also practiced Judo, Shito-Ryu Karate, and Brazilian jujutsu. Mr.
