Madhuri Dixit (born May 15, 1967) is an Indian actress. She was born in Mumbai, India.

Her first big hit was in Tezaab (1988). She also starred in popular films including Dil (1990), Beta (1992), and Khal Nayak (1993). Her high point was Hum Aapke Hain Kaun! in 1994. She went on to act in a number of other films including Dil To Pagal Hai (1997).

Biography

She married Dr. Sriram Nene in 1999.

After marriage she starred in the movie Devdas which was India's nomination for the Foreign Language Film category of the Oscars.

Dixit gave birth to a baby boy Areen in 2003.

Madhuri Dixit was the muse of painter M.F. Hussain. He has made paintings with her as the theme. Also she starred in his film Gaja Gamini (2000).

She is also a 4 times Filmfare Award winner in the category of Best Actress and she also won a Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Devdas in 2002(Filmfare).
