It produced a Top 20 single, "Just Wanna Dance." With the new hit single, she announced that she was changing her name professionally -- to Toy. Knopfler and his associated bands have sold over 100 million albums, and performed live to audiences totalling many millions. He has twin sons (Benji and Joseph, born 1987), and two daughters Isabella (1998) and Katya (2003); he holds a degree in English from Leeds University, and has been awarded an honorary music degree from Newcastle University. Her latest album is set to be released in 2005. He is noted for being left-handed, but playing right-handed, and for fingerpicking instead of strumming or using a plectrum; fingerpicking is usually associated with the acoustic guitar, but Knopfler usually (though not always) plays an electric guitar, particularly the Fender Stratocaster. Her manager, Jack Gordon, was also her husband, but he was abusive toward her and they are now divorced. He learned to play the guitar as a teenager, but worked as a journalist for the Yorkshire Evening Post, and then as a lecturer at Loughton College, before he became a full-time musician in the late 1970s. Now she is reconciled with her family and says the image of her being the "black sheep of the family" was the creation of her management. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and moved with his family to Newcastle upon Tyne in the mid 1950s.

LaToya has caused much controversy; she appeared nude in the Playboy magazine, wrote an autobiography called "Growing Up in The Jackson Family", went shopping with a boa constrictor around her neck, and stated that the allegations of child abuse against her brother, Michael Jackson, were true. In addition, he has scored the music to several films, including Local Hero, The Princess Bride and Last Exit to Brooklyn. She did have an American top sixty hit in the 1980s with the song "Heart Don't Lie". He has also performed on work by other artists, such as Bob Dylan, and produced albums for artists such as Tina Turner, Randy Newman, and (again) Dylan. She was the first Jackson sister to pursue a solo career. However, her albums were always critically panned and, although they sold moderately well, it was generally believed this was due to her siblings' popularity. He is best-known as the lead guitarist and vocalist for the band Dire Straits, but has also made albums as a solo performer and played in other bands (such as the Notting Hillbillies). LaToya Jackson (born May 29, 1956) is one of the many siblings in the family which has produced such highly successful musical acts as The Jackson 5, Michael Jackson, and Janet Jackson. Mark Knopfler (born August 12, 1949) is a British guitarist, singer, and songwriter.
