Kristin Kreuk

As of 2004, Kreuk is dating her Legend of Earthsea co-star, Canadian actor Mark Hildreth. She is interred in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California. Although Gable remarried, he was buried next to her. It airs on December 13, 2004. Its producers decided to cut part of the film in which her character asks, "What can happen in a plane?". It was a comedy, My Man Godfrey (1936) for which she received an Academy Award for Best Actress nomination. The executives at Neutrogena decided to make her the cover girl for their new worldwide ad campaign; in this regard Kreuk followed in the footsteps of fellow teen stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Mandy Moore. Carole Lombard became one of Hollywood's top comedy actresses in the 1930s. Originally, Kreuk was not so sure about auditioning for the Lana role, as the character was to be a gorgeous, popular cheerleader and so she assumed that the part would be that of a shallow "idiot". However, upon reading the "graveyard scene" from the pilot, she was so impressed that when she was offered the role, she immediately accepted it. In 1930 she began working as for Paramount Pictures.

Gough and Millar called Kreuk to the WB's studios in Burbank, California to audition for the role of Clark Kent's pre-Lois Lane love, Lana Lang. She became a well known actress and managed to make a smooth transition to sound films, starting with High Voltage (1929). The program (which was slated to be shot in Vancouver) was to revolve around the life of teenager Clark Kent, alias Superboy. She also worked for Mack Sennett and Pathé Pictures. After Snow White, Kreuk's agent sent an audition tape to movie screenwriters Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who at the time were putting together the cast of a show they had created for the WB Network entitled Smallville. In 1925 she was signed as a contract player with 20th Century Fox. It aired on ABC on March 17, 2002. In some of her early movies she was credited as Jane Peters, and then as Carol Lombard.

The film, shot in Vancouver, also starred actress Miranda Richardson. In the 1920s she worked in several low-budget productions. After shooting the first season of Edgemont (a teen soap opera set at a Vancouver-area high school) and getting herself an agent, Kreuk landed the lead role of Snow White in a TV movie entitled Snow White: The Fairest of Them All. She made her film debut at the age of 12 in A Perfect Crime (1921) (There has been some speculation that she was actually a few years older than her given birthdate). Much to her surprise, she won the part. She was born Jane Alice Peters in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Kreuk, who had no previous experience in acting other than musicals at her high school, was convinced to audition for the role by her drama teacher. Carole Lombard (October 6, 1908 - January 16, 1942) was an American actress.

Kreuk was planning to study either psychology, environmental science, or forensic science at Simon Fraser University when a casting director for the CBC TV series Edgemont called her high school, looking for an "exotic"-looking girl to play the part of Laurel Yeung on the Vancouver-shot show. She also has a younger sister, Justine. Her father, Peter Kreuk, is of Dutch ancestry and her mother, Deanna Che, is of Chinese ancestry; both are landscape architects. Kreuk was born in Vancouver, British Columbia.
