Kingdom Hearts II

Kingdom Hearts II is an RPG video game sequel to the 2002 Disney/Square RPG Kingdom Hearts, though it is actually the third installment in the series. Directed by Tetsuya Nomura, the game continues Sora's adventures in finding King Mickey and Riku with the help of a large cast of Disney characters including Donald, Goofy, Jack Sparrow, Tron, Aladdin, the Beast and more. Developed by Square Enix, Kingdom Hearts II was released in Japan on December 22, 2005. The English version will be released on March 28, 2006 in North America [1], followed by European and Australian releases later in the year. The in-game music is composed by Yoko Shimomura, who composed the music for the first game, and the theme song Passion (Sanctuary for the international release) is written and performed by Japanese pop music star Utada Hikaru.

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Overview

Kingdom Hearts II begins where Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories left off. Sora and his companions have been asleep for about a year, regaining their memories. When Sora awakens, he eventually arrives in Twilight Town, the place where a mysterious boy, Roxas, who can use dual Keyblades, lived before he left suddenly. Gaining new clothes and powers, Sora began his journey anew, unaware of the events that have taken place in Chain of Memories. Sora continues his quest, sealing the keyholes of each world to protect them from the Heartless, as well as facing Axel and the remaining members of the mysterious Organization XIII. As the game progresses, Sora learns how much he and Roxas have in common.

New gameplay features

Gameplay is revamped from the last game; there are various new features offering the potential of more interesting play.

Drive Forms

One of Sora's first drives, "Brave".

Sora can "fuse" with either Donald or Goofy to become more powerful and acquire different attributes as well. Three out of the five forms allow Sora to use two Keyblades instead of one, and the second keyblade may be equipped in the items menu for this purpose. There are five drive forms in all.

The first two forms have Sora merge with one of his permanent party members, Donald or Goofy. One is Brave Form, where Sora merges with Goofy, and dons red and black clothes. Although he cannot use magic in this form, Sora gains a massive boost to his physical ability. Sora wields two Keyblades which doubles his combo potential dramatically and also gives him additional attacks. Sora also runs twice as fast in this form. The other, Wisdom Form, is where Sora merges with Donald for this form, and he dons blue and black clothes. Sora gains a massive magic attack boost, and hovers across the floor never touching the ground, instead of running giving him superior movement control. Wisdom Form replaces the attack command with shoot, which lets him shoot a blue magic bullet from the tip of the Keyblade in rapid fire if pressed continuously making Wisdom Form a long distance specialized form.

The other two forms have Sora combine with two of Donald, Goofy or another party member to attain greater power than in the other two forms. Master Form, where Sora merges with both Donald and Goofy, combines the powers of the Brave and Wisdom forms. Sora's combo potential is increased, and his magic power is increased as well. Two Keyblades can be wielded, one psychokinetically and the other is held normally. His clothes turn yellow and black, and he is able to glide very swiftly as well as perform a double jump. The drawback to this form is that the drive meter will decrease quicker than the previous two drives. When in Final Form, Sora will merge with both other party members and don silver and black clothing. Wielding two Keyblades psychokinetically as well as the ability to fly incredibly fast, Sora wields incredible power in this form, dispatching enemies with ease and dealing increased physical and magical damage.

Anti Form is a bizarre form that is caused by taking too much damage while in Drive form, and then attempting to use the Drive command afterward. Sora turns completely black like a shadow, walks on all fours, and has yellow eyes, similar to a basic Heartless. While in this form, both partners disappear and Sora uses his "claws" for wide-range attacks that may be weak with individual attacks, but he also has a very high maximum combo count. Unlike the other forms, when this form occurs it will cancel out Drive when entering a new area as opposed to staying in effect. Sora is also unable to use either items or magic, and both of the computer controlled partners will dissappear regardless of who Sora drives with.

Reaction command

The reaction command, similar to the Resident Evil 4 real time reaction commands, is used during fights and can allow you to perform certain actions when timed correctly. For example, against "Dusk" nobodies, your character will slide behind the normally evasive opponents and set you up for a combo. Reaction commands can also trigger counter moves as well. For example, a nobody might shoot a red bullet at you, but with a well timed reaction command, Sora will kick the bullet back at it. Reaction commands are often pivotal in defeating bosses as well.

Combination Attack

Simba and Sora's team attack knock rocks up from the ground and have Sora and Simba roar intensely to do damage.

A gameplay addition gives Sora a special linked attack with any of the guest characters, and the effect varies depending on the character teaming up with Sora. In the Olympus Coliseum world, for example, Sora has the option to perform a linked attack with Auron when battling enemies. Later in the game Sora will also be able to perform team attacks with Donald and Goofy individually in similar fashion.

Magic abilities

Sora's magic spells from Kingdom Hearts has been modified. Some spells have been replaced, other have differing effects. Casting spells in different drive forms also offers another variety to the spell effects, mostly increasing their strength. Two new abilities introduced to the game are Magnet and Reflect. Magnet creates a sphere that slowly sucks in enemies. Reflect causes a large shield to form around Sora for a very short amount of time, then crack and send out sharp shards a limited distance.

Summons

The Stitch summon involves music.

Like the previous game, Sora can summon a particular character to aid him in battle when attaining each of their respective items. Summoning however, uses the drive meter, so Sora can't drive and summon at the same time. The character will replace the two computer-controlled characters and fight alongside Sora for as long as the drive meter holds out. Instead of the summoned character being limited to only one action, the summoned character now has a menu of his own to perform multiple actions, some solo actions and some cooperative actions with Sora. There are four summons.

  • Chicken Little is the titular character of Chicken Little. Chicken when summoned, chucks baseballs at enemies when on his own. His attack with Sora, "FPS", is, as suggested, a First Person Shooter-like mode where Chicken can throw baseballs in rapid fire from a first person view.
  • Genie is the blue genie in a lamp who helps the titular character of Aladdin. Genie attacks with a humorous recreation of Sora's keyblade, and has a command to mimick any one of Sora's drive forms. The drive form to mimick must be unlocked first. Depending on the form he is in, Genie will be able to perform an enormously damaging move.
  • Stitch is the cute but destructive anti hero of Lilo & Stitch. When summoned, Stitch is somewhat unique. He will actually climb around the menu screens as well as the screen itself (as if he were on the surface of your screen), and do various things while shooting the enemies with his plasma gun somewhat nonchalantly. His team attack with Sora is a ukelele jam session where different buttons can be pressed to prompt different musical attacks for big damage.
  • Peter Pan is the boy who never grows up and the titular character of Peter Pan. Peter comes with Tinker Bell, and flies around attacking much like he did in the first Kingdom Hearts when he was a temporary party member. Tinkerbell heals Sora constantly at the same time. His team attack with Sora is somewhat cinematic, as Sora will be reminded of his adventures in Neverland in the first game (with pictures floating across the screen) while Peter and Sora fly around hitting anything in their path.

Mickey's help

In certain boss battles, if Sora is knocked out, a second option may be available, called "I won't give up!" It allows you to play as Mickey Mouse. Mickey is fast and his attacks are brutal, and he can shoot beams of magic from his Keyblade. However, you must revive Sora to finish off the boss; this is done by pressing the triangle button repeatedly to fill up his Drive bar. This can also be done by constantly attacking the opponent. After the bar is full, pressing the triangle button will bring Sora back to life. If you lose as Mickey, Sora will be automatically revived.

Different command menus

A new feature is that each world has their own command menu, which are sometimes animated. For instance, Olympus Coliseum's design shows the image of the top of the Coliseum, and Port Royal's design is to show a ship's steering wheel and the Pirates of the Caribbean logo. If the player desires, the command menu's design can be changed to the original Kingdom Hearts design in the options menu. There are two different Command Menus; a normal one, used to access magic, items and attack, and another used for attack, drive and party.

Maps

It is optional to have a map in the top-right corner of the screen. In addition, mini-maps can be found in each world. On these maps, a small Kingdom Keyblade indicates Sora's location.

Disney cameos

In addition to the Disney characters that will be returning from Kingdom Hearts, there will also be additional characters from their movies including Megara, Pegasus, Pain, Panic and the Hydra from Hercules, Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, Chip, and Wardrobe from Beauty and the Beast, the merchant from Aladdin, Eric from The Little Mermaid, and Santa Claus as depicted in The Nightmare Before Christmas. Stitch from Lilo & Stitch and the titular characters of Chicken Little and Peter Pan act as new summons. Characters from the previously unexplored worlds of Mulan, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tron and The Lion King also play parts in the game.

Yen Sid the sorcerer, Mickey's master in the movie Fantasia, makes an appearance, inhabiting a mysterious tower. Merlin returns and will be in Disney Castle and Hollow Bastion, revealing the existence of Timeless River to the heroes. Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather from Sleeping Beauty give Sora his new outfit. Scrooge McDuck also makes an appearance.

Pete is also in the game as an ever-persistent enemy to Sora, Donald and Goofy, appearing in many worlds. He works with the resurrected Maleficent, who refuses to relent in her desire for power.

Final Fantasy cameos

Squall and Cloud in the Hollow Bastion world of Kingdom Hearts II.

Seventeen characters from the Final Fantasy series appear. Auron of Final Fantasy X will be Sora's partner in battle in Hercules' world. Yuna, Rikku and Paine from Final Fantasy X-2 appear as fairies at the Hollow Bastion. Younger versions of Seifer Almasy, Fujin (called "Fuu"), and Raijin (called "Rai") from Final Fantasy VIII appear in Twilight Town, as a "disciplinary committee".

Squall Leonhart (Leon) and Selphie Tilmitt of Final Fantasy VIII, and Cloud Strife and Yuffie Kisaragi as depicted in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children return as cameos in Hollow Bastion. Aerith Gainsborough also appears, albeit wearing a modified version of her Before Crisis clothing. Tifa Lockhart of Final Fantasy VII also makes her first cameo in the series, wearing her Advent Children attire. Cid Highwind also returns, but he is still wearing the same attire as in the previous game; he has a speaking role this time around as opposed to caption bubbles in Kingdom Hearts. Sephiroth, Cloud's ever-present enemy, comes along as well, battling Cloud.

The Moogles, featured in many different Final Fantasy titles, serve as shopkeepers in the world of Hollow Bastion.

It had been stated by Nomura that, although the first game strictly stuck to characters Nomura designed, this time around they were going to "take some risks", which implied that characters from the Final Fantasy games without involvement from Nomura could make an appearance. One of these was Vivi Ornitier of Final Fantasy IX, who appears in Twilight Town as a member in Seifer's group. Another non-Nomura character included is Setzer Gabbiani of Final Fantasy VI, as a challenger in Twilight Town.

Cloud Strife has his own side story, involving conflict with Sephiroth and his relationships with Tifa and Aerith.

The cover of the soundtrack.
  • The theme songs to Kingdom Hearts II, Passion and Sanctuary (the English version of Passion) are performed by Utada Hikaru, and according to Tetsuya Nomura it ties in even more closely with the game's story than Hikari (Simple and Clean) did with Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.
  • The CD single for Passion was released on December 14, 2005, with a price of ¥1,050 (roughly 8.78 USD).

The tracklist for the single is as follows:

  1. Passion ~single version~ (4:36)
  2. Passion ~after the battle~ (5:57)

Trivia

  • A teaser for what appears to be a sequel or a spin-off can be seen if the player accomplishes certain tasks.
  • Characters from Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, such as Axel, DiZ, and Naminé, as well as allusions to deceased Organization members, such as Marluxia, make appearances in the game.
  • The notoriously harsh magazine Famitsu has given the game a score of 39/40; close to perfect. It is notable because only five games have been given perfect '40/40' scores. [20]
  • During its first week of availability in Japan, Kingdom Hearts II sold 727,591 copies. [21]
  • The name of the world "Space Paranoids" is a reference to one of the games that Kevin Flynn created in Tron.

The tracklist for the single is as follows:. See List of XM Satellite Radio channels.
. See XM's footprints for the US and Canada. Cloud Strife has his own side story, involving conflict with Sephiroth and his relationships with Tifa and Aerith. On November 29, 2005, XM Canada officially launched. Another non-Nomura character included is Setzer Gabbiani of Final Fantasy VI, as a challenger in Twilight Town. XM's Canadian channels appeared on US receivers on November 17, 2005.

One of these was Vivi Ornitier of Final Fantasy IX, who appears in Twilight Town as a member in Seifer's group. After a lengthy debate, Cabinet rejected the appeals on September 9, 2005. It had been stated by Nomura that, although the first game strictly stuck to characters Nomura designed, this time around they were going to "take some risks", which implied that characters from the Final Fantasy games without involvement from Nomura could make an appearance. The groups objected to the satellite radio applicants' approach to and reduced levels of Canadian Content and French-language programming, along with the exclusion of Canadian non-commercial broadcasting. The Moogles, featured in many different Final Fantasy titles, serve as shopkeepers in the world of Hollow Bastion. The decisions were appealed to the Canadian federal Cabinet by a number of broadcasting, labour, and arts and culture organizations, including the Friends of Canadian Broadcasting, CHUM Limited, and the National Campus and Community Radio Association. Sephiroth, Cloud's ever-present enemy, comes along as well, battling Cloud. On June 16, 2005, the CRTC approved all three applications.

Cid Highwind also returns, but he is still wearing the same attire as in the previous game; he has a speaking role this time around as opposed to caption bubbles in Kingdom Hearts. Along with Sirius Canada and CHUM Subscription Radio Canada, CSR was one of three applications for national subscription radio services submitted to the CRTC. Tifa Lockhart of Final Fantasy VII also makes her first cameo in the series, wearing her Advent Children attire. In November 2004, Canadian Satellite Radio filed an application with the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission to bring the XM service to Canada. Aerith Gainsborough also appears, albeit wearing a modified version of her Before Crisis clothing. Unless they unaminously agree otherwise, control of the company remains with the preferred shareholder and noteholders of the company, including Hughes Electronics, GM, Honda, and several private investment groups. Squall Leonhart (Leon) and Selphie Tilmitt of Final Fantasy VIII, and Cloud Strife and Yuffie Kisaragi as depicted in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children return as cameos in Hollow Bastion. At that time, GM owned 8.6% of the Class A common stock (a voting percentage of less than 1%) and Honda owned 13% (with a voting percentage of 3.6%).

Younger versions of Seifer Almasy, Fujin (called "Fuu"), and Raijin (called "Rai") from Final Fantasy VIII appear in Twilight Town, as a "disciplinary committee". Four additional directors are investors, and two are not affiliated with any significant stockholders. Yuna, Rikku and Paine from Final Fantasy X-2 appear as fairies at the Hollow Bastion. The company's May 2004 proxy statement notes that four directors are subject to director designation agreements with GM, American Honda, the chairman, and the CEO. Auron of Final Fantasy X will be Sora's partner in battle in Hercules' world. XM manufacturing partners such as Denon, Onkyo, Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc., and Yamaha will introduce home audio systems capable of playing XM HD Surround powered by Neural Audio in 2006. Seventeen characters from the Final Fantasy series appear. XM channels XM Pops and Fine Tuning will broadcast in XM HD Surround 24/7, while XM Live will broadcast the format for new live concerts and events.

He works with the resurrected Maleficent, who refuses to relent in her desire for power. The technology, titled XM HD Surround, is a partnership between XM and Neural Audio Corporation which provides content with six discrete channels of digital full fidelity audio powered by Neural Audio technology. Pete is also in the game as an ever-persistent enemy to Sora, Donald and Goofy, appearing in many worlds. Beginning in March 2006, XM will begin broadcasting select channels in 5.1 surround sound audio quality. Scrooge McDuck also makes an appearance. Due to bandwidth restrictions and a large channel load, the maximum bitrate XM broadcast from its satellite per music channel is limited to 64kbs. Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather from Sleeping Beauty give Sora his new outfit. Audio channels on XM are digitally compressed using the aacPlus codec from Coding Technologies for most channels, and the AMBE codec from Digital Voice Systems for some voice channels.

Merlin returns and will be in Disney Castle and Hollow Bastion, revealing the existence of Timeless River to the heroes. American Honda also retains the right to some of the company's bandwidth to transmit coded traffic information directly to navigation systems using TMC technology. Yen Sid the sorcerer, Mickey's master in the movie Fantasia, makes an appearance, inhabiting a mysterious tower. XM has agreed to provide 128 kilobits per second of its bandwidth to OnStar Corporation for use with XM-enabled GM vehicles, regardless of whether their owners are XM subscribers. Characters from the previously unexplored worlds of Mulan, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tron and The Lion King also play parts in the game. The XM signal uses 12.5 MHz of the S band: 2332.5 to 2345.0 MHz. Stitch from Lilo & Stitch and the titular characters of Chicken Little and Peter Pan act as new summons. XM-1 was then moved over next to XM-2, where each satellite operates only one transponder to conserve energy.

Potts, Chip, and Wardrobe from Beauty and the Beast, the merchant from Aladdin, Eric from The Little Mermaid, and Santa Claus as depicted in The Nightmare Before Christmas. To compensate for this flaw, XM-3 was launched earlier than anticipated and moved into XM-1's previous location. In addition to the Disney characters that will be returning from Kingdom Hearts, there will also be additional characters from their movies including Megara, Pegasus, Pain, Panic and the Hydra from Hercules, Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Unfortunately, XM-1 and XM-2 are suffering from a generic design fault on the Boeing 702 series of satellites, which means that their lifetimes will be shortened to approximately six years (instead of the design goal of 15 years). On these maps, a small Kingdom Keyblade indicates Sora's location. The combination of three satellites and a ground-based repeater network is designed to provide gap-free coverage anywhere within the continental U.S. In addition, mini-maps can be found in each world. XM-1 ("Roll") and XM-2 ("Rock") are co-located at 115 degrees west longitude and XM-3 ("Rhythm") is located 85 degrees west longitude in addition to a network of ground-based repeaters.

It is optional to have a map in the top-right corner of the screen. XM provides digital programming directly from three satellites in geostationary orbit above the equator. There are two different Command Menus; a normal one, used to access magic, items and attack, and another used for attack, drive and party. DirecTV now gives listeners as part of its service the music and talk channels of XM, but not the news or traffic channels. If the player desires, the command menu's design can be changed to the original Kingdom Hearts design in the options menu. XM also provides data services such as weather information for pilots and weather spotters through it's XM WX Satellite Weather datacasting service, in addition to real-time weather and traffic updates aired every two minutes for major metropolitan areas on some of XM's audio channels. For instance, Olympus Coliseum's design shows the image of the top of the Coliseum, and Port Royal's design is to show a ship's steering wheel and the Pirates of the Caribbean logo. XM is currently the only satellite radio service to offer true mobile services, utilizing the built in antenna in its MyFi to transmit a live satellite signal to Ipod sized battery operated devices.

A new feature is that each world has their own command menu, which are sometimes animated. The Internet-only subscription fee is US$7.99 per month; those with an active satellite subscription do not need to pay an additional charge. If you lose as Mickey, Sora will be automatically revived. XM Satellite Radio produces the majority of its channels, as well as a few others that are not available via satellite, available on the Internet. After the bar is full, pressing the triangle button will bring Sora back to life. Subscribers may opt to purchase one-, two-, three-, four-, or five-year packages, in which the average monthly cost would be under US$10.00 per month. This can also be done by constantly attacking the opponent. If opting for the month-to-month plan, service fees are US$12.95 for the first receiver, and US$6.99 each for up to four additional receivers on the same account.

However, you must revive Sora to finish off the boss; this is done by pressing the triangle button repeatedly to fill up his Drive bar. XM-capable receivers cost US$30 – US$300. Mickey is fast and his attacks are brutal, and he can shoot beams of magic from his Keyblade. . In certain boss battles, if Sora is knocked out, a second option may be available, called "I won't give up!" It allows you to play as Mickey Mouse. XM was founded in 1992 as American Mobile Radio Corporation. There are four summons. “XM175”, “XM4”, “XM32”).

Instead of the summoned character being limited to only one action, the summoned character now has a menu of his own to perform multiple actions, some solo actions and some cooperative actions with Sora. XM channels are identified by Arbitron with the label “XM” (e.g. The character will replace the two computer-controlled characters and fight alongside Sora for as long as the drive meter holds out. Their service includes 67 different music channels, 39 news, sports, talk and entertainment channels, 21 regional traffic and weather channels and 23 play-by-play sports channels. Summoning however, uses the drive meter, so Sora can't drive and summon at the same time. XM provides pay-for-service radio, analogous to premium cable television. Like the previous game, Sora can summon a particular character to aid him in battle when attaining each of their respective items. XM Satellite Radio NASDAQ: XMSR is a satellite radio (DARS) service in the United States and Canada based in Washington, DC and controlled by News Corporation's DirecTV, General Motors, American Honda, Hughes Electronics, and several private investment groups.

Reflect causes a large shield to form around Sora for a very short amount of time, then crack and send out sharp shards a limited distance. Also, Oprah's team of personalities who appear on her television show will also host programs on the channel. Magnet creates a sphere that slowly sucks in enemies. Oprah will host an original weekly XM program. Two new abilities introduced to the game are Magnet and Reflect. A new channel called "Oprah and Friends" will launch beginning in September 2006. Casting spells in different drive forms also offers another variety to the spell effects, mostly increasing their strength. On February 9, 2006, XM announced that they had signed Oprah Winfrey to a three-year contract.

Some spells have been replaced, other have differing effects. On January 9, 2006, XM wins top honors at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas for their two new portable units that also offer live programming on-the-go. Sora's magic spells from Kingdom Hearts has been modified. On January 4, 2006, XM announced that it has passed the 6 million subscriber mark. Later in the game Sora will also be able to perform team attacks with Donald and Goofy individually in similar fashion. On January 2, 2006, XM launched "Fox News Talk", news, analysis and the pulse of the nation from Bill O'Reilly, Tony Snow, John Gibson, Alan Colmes and more. In the Olympus Coliseum world, for example, Sora has the option to perform a linked attack with Auron when battling enemies. On November 29, 2005, XM launched its service in Canada.

A gameplay addition gives Sora a special linked attack with any of the guest characters, and the effect varies depending on the character teaming up with Sora. "Lex and Terry", a popular nationally syndicated morning radio program, delivers a unique blend of lifestyle advice, humor and on-air community, especially for men, beginning November 28, 2005, on Extreme XM. Reaction commands are often pivotal in defeating bosses as well. "Home Ice", part of XM's sports lineup, featuring NHL games. For example, a nobody might shoot a red bullet at you, but with a well timed reaction command, Sora will kick the bullet back at it. "Franc Parler", the place for Canadian news, talk, and information. Reaction commands can also trigger counter moves as well. "Canada 360", and "Quoi de Neuf", a 24/7 news and information channel with the latest news, weather, sports, business, entertainment and issues making headlines in Canada and around the world.

For example, against "Dusk" nobodies, your character will slide behind the normally evasive opponents and set you up for a combo. "Laugh Attack", Canadian comedic talent. The reaction command, similar to the Resident Evil 4 real time reaction commands, is used during fights and can allow you to perform certain actions when timed correctly. "Sur La Route", a blend of modern and classic pop, folk, rock n' roll, "chanson" and soul featuring the stars of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Sora is also unable to use either items or magic, and both of the computer controlled partners will dissappear regardless of who Sora drives with. "Air Musique", French punk, hip-hop, metal, electronic and alternative rock music. Unlike the other forms, when this form occurs it will cancel out Drive when entering a new area as opposed to staying in effect. "unSigned", which now plays new and recently discovered Canadian artists.

While in this form, both partners disappear and Sora uses his "claws" for wide-range attacks that may be weak with individual attacks, but he also has a very high maximum combo count. On November 17, 2005, XM launched their new Fall lineup of channels. Sora turns completely black like a shadow, walks on all fours, and has yellow eyes, similar to a basic Heartless. These include music channels, but not news or sports channels. Anti Form is a bizarre form that is caused by taking too much damage while in Drive form, and then attempting to use the Drive command afterward. On November 15, 2005, DirecTV began carrying 72 channels of XM programming. Wielding two Keyblades psychokinetically as well as the ability to fly incredibly fast, Sora wields incredible power in this form, dispatching enemies with ease and dealing increased physical and magical damage. On October 18, 2005, XM announced that it will launch "Fox News Talk" Radio in January 2006.

When in Final Form, Sora will merge with both other party members and don silver and black clothing. Additionally, XM Radio drops two of its Talk and Entertainment channels: MTV and VH1. The drawback to this form is that the drive meter will decrease quicker than the previous two drives. This channel is geared toward Women's Programming and features replays of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", "The Tyra Banks Show", syndicated and original programming, as well as programming from Food Network and HGTV. His clothes turn yellow and black, and he is able to glide very swiftly as well as perform a double jump. On October 3, 2005, XM Radio launched channel "Take 5" (XM 155). Two Keyblades can be wielded, one psychokinetically and the other is held normally. On October 3, 2005, XM announced that it had added more than 617,000 subscribers in Q3 2005, pushing their total subscriber base to over 5.03 million.

Sora's combo potential is increased, and his magic power is increased as well. This includes music channels, "Home Plate" (XM 175), and "High Voltage" (XM 202). Master Form, where Sora merges with both Donald and Goofy, combines the powers of the Brave and Wisdom forms. On September 27, 2005, XM announced that starting on November 15th, 2005, DirecTV will carry 72 channels as part of their audio programming. The other two forms have Sora combine with two of Donald, Goofy or another party member to attain greater power than in the other two forms. On September 27, 2005, XM announced that it surpassed the 5 million subscriber mark. Wisdom Form replaces the attack command with shoot, which lets him shoot a blue magic bullet from the tip of the Keyblade in rapid fire if pressed continuously making Wisdom Form a long distance specialized form. On September 13, 2005, XM announced a multi-year deal to carry National Hockey League broadcasts beginning with the 2005-06 season, initially sharing the coverage with Sirius but gaining satellite-radio exclusivity from 2007 onward.

Sora gains a massive magic attack boost, and hovers across the floor never touching the ground, instead of running giving him superior movement control. They join Opie and Anthony on High Voltage XM 202 on September 12th, 2005. The other, Wisdom Form, is where Sora merges with Donald for this form, and he dons blue and black clothes. On August 1, 2005, XM announced the addition of popular radio hosts Ron and Fez. Sora also runs twice as fast in this form. On July 1, 2005, XM announced that it had added more than 640,000 subscribers in Q2 2005, pushing their total subscriber base to over 4.4 million. Sora wields two Keyblades which doubles his combo potential dramatically and also gives him additional attacks. On June 07, 2005, XM partnered with Audible.com to offer downloadable audio show archives of The Opie and Anthony Show, as well as The Bob Edwards Show.

Although he cannot use magic in this form, Sora gains a massive boost to his physical ability. On May 28, 2005, the Wall Street Journal reported that XM had awarded the contract for the XM 5 spacecraft to Space Systems/Loral (see also [1]). One is Brave Form, where Sora merges with Goofy, and dons red and black clothes. In 5 weeks time, they have added 230,000 subscribers — almost 50% the subscribers added in the previous quarter. The first two forms have Sora merge with one of his permanent party members, Donald or Goofy. This indicates exponential growth for the company. There are five drive forms in all. On May 16, 2005, XM announced that subscribership topped the 4 million mark.

Three out of the five forms allow Sora to use two Keyblades instead of one, and the second keyblade may be equipped in the items menu for this purpose. On April 11, 2005, XM announced that a deal had been reached to be the official satellite radio network of Air America Radio. Sora can "fuse" with either Donald or Goofy to become more powerful and acquire different attributes as well. On April 1, 2005, XM announced that it had added 540,000 subscribers in Q1 2005, pushing their total subscriber base to 3.77 million. Gameplay is revamped from the last game; there are various new features offering the potential of more interesting play. On February 28, 2005, XM's third satellite, Rhythm, was launched successfully. As in the first Kingdom Hearts game, the player can access different worlds with themes based mostly on Disney films. On January 5, 2005, XM announces the introduction of two more XM2go™ models: Pioneer's AirWare™ and the Tao™ from Giant International.

As the game progresses, Sora learns how much he and Roxas have in common. As of the 2005 season, XM had exclusive satellite radio broadcast rights to all Major League Baseball games. Sora continues his quest, sealing the keyholes of each world to protect them from the Heartless, as well as facing Axel and the remaining members of the mysterious Organization XIII. On December 30, 2004, XM announced that it had 3.1 million subscribers. Gaining new clothes and powers, Sora began his journey anew, unaware of the events that have taken place in Chain of Memories. On October 26, 2004, XM presents its first XM2go™ portable XM receiver: The Delphi MyFi™. When Sora awakens, he eventually arrives in Twilight Town, the place where a mysterious boy, Roxas, who can use dual Keyblades, lived before he left suddenly. On October 4, 2004, former National Public Radio host Bob Edwards broadcast the first Bob Edwards Show on XM Public Radio, channel 133.

Sora and his companions have been asleep for about a year, regaining their memories. On October 4, 2004, "shock" jocks Opie and Anthony began broadcasting on a premium ($2.99/month extra) XM Satellite Radio. Kingdom Hearts II begins where Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories left off. The Acura TL was the first luxury automobile to offer XM radio as "standard" in every vehicle. . The company partnered with both luxury automakers: (Acura and Audi) as well as others: (General Motors, Honda, Isuzu, Nissan, Toyota, Volkswagen, and SAAB) to offer in-dash XM receivers on an OEM basis. The in-game music is composed by Yoko Shimomura, who composed the music for the first game, and the theme song Passion (Sanctuary for the international release) is written and performed by Japanese pop music star Utada Hikaru. On August 11, 2004, XM's subscriber base broke the 2.5 million mark.

The English version will be released on March 28, 2006 in North America [1], followed by European and Australian releases later in the year. On March 1, 2004, XM Radio launched Instant Traffic and Weather Channels for major metropolitan markets in the United States. Developed by Square Enix, Kingdom Hearts II was released in Japan on December 22, 2005. In July 2003 the company had nearly 700,000 subscribers. Directed by Tetsuya Nomura, the game continues Sora's adventures in finding King Mickey and Riku with the help of a large cast of Disney characters including Donald, Goofy, Jack Sparrow, Tron, Aladdin, the Beast and more. In December 2002, revenues were lower than expected, and the company obtained $200 million in new funds and a $250 million payment deferral from General Motors. Kingdom Hearts II is an RPG video game sequel to the 2002 Disney/Square RPG Kingdom Hearts, though it is actually the third installment in the series. In 2001, XM service was launched, first in San Diego and Dallas/Fort Worth and then nationwide.

The release year of Mulan is erronously written as 1992 in Jiminy's Journal in the Japanese version. In July 2000, American Honda joined several private investors in a $235 million preferred stock investment in the company. The plot of Agrabah is loosely based on a direct-to-video movie, The Return of Jafar. Both Clear Channel and DIRECTV agreed to develop services for XM. The name of the world "Space Paranoids" is a reference to one of the games that Kevin Flynn created in Tron. In June 1999, Clear Channel Communications, DirecTV, General Motors, and a private investment group invested $250 million in XM Radio convertible debt. [21]. In October 1997 the company obtained one of only two satellite digital audio radio service licenses offered by the Federal Communications Commission.

During its first week of availability in Japan, Kingdom Hearts II sold 727,591 copies. [20]. It is notable because only five games have been given perfect '40/40' scores. The notoriously harsh magazine Famitsu has given the game a score of 39/40; close to perfect.

Characters from Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, such as Axel, DiZ, and Naminé, as well as allusions to deceased Organization members, such as Marluxia, make appearances in the game. A teaser for what appears to be a sequel or a spin-off can be seen if the player accomplishes certain tasks. Certain levels of gameplay are based on music and button coordination, such as the Atlantica world and the Stitch summon. Click here to listen to a 46 second sample of Passion.

Passion ~after the battle~ (5:57). Passion ~single version~ (4:36). The CD single for Passion was released on December 14, 2005, with a price of ¥1,050 (roughly 8.78 USD). The theme songs to Kingdom Hearts II, Passion and Sanctuary (the English version of Passion) are performed by Utada Hikaru, and according to Tetsuya Nomura it ties in even more closely with the game's story than Hikari (Simple and Clean) did with Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.

His team attack with Sora is somewhat cinematic, as Sora will be reminded of his adventures in Neverland in the first game (with pictures floating across the screen) while Peter and Sora fly around hitting anything in their path. Tinkerbell heals Sora constantly at the same time. Peter comes with Tinker Bell, and flies around attacking much like he did in the first Kingdom Hearts when he was a temporary party member. Peter Pan is the boy who never grows up and the titular character of Peter Pan.

His team attack with Sora is a ukelele jam session where different buttons can be pressed to prompt different musical attacks for big damage. He will actually climb around the menu screens as well as the screen itself (as if he were on the surface of your screen), and do various things while shooting the enemies with his plasma gun somewhat nonchalantly. When summoned, Stitch is somewhat unique. Stitch is the cute but destructive anti hero of Lilo & Stitch.

Depending on the form he is in, Genie will be able to perform an enormously damaging move. The drive form to mimick must be unlocked first. Genie attacks with a humorous recreation of Sora's keyblade, and has a command to mimick any one of Sora's drive forms. Genie is the blue genie in a lamp who helps the titular character of Aladdin.

His attack with Sora, "FPS", is, as suggested, a First Person Shooter-like mode where Chicken can throw baseballs in rapid fire from a first person view. Chicken when summoned, chucks baseballs at enemies when on his own. Chicken Little is the titular character of Chicken Little. The World That Never Was.
